Yep.. Finally go to celebrate birthday #..?? (which of COUSE would happen the day KB crashed, wouldn't it!! :argh: That fucking Murphy bastard should be SHOT!!) by seriously blowing out some cobwebs.. with a wee 300k strop round the block!!! :Punk:
Got a txt from one of the local lads (non kb'rs.. silly boys!!) saying "gear up we're off"!! so made a quick phone call to get kidletts organised, dusted the winter cobwebs off the old girl & blatted into town to meet the others!
Twas an absolute STUNNER of a day here in paradise, as we headed off over the Whangamoas towards Havelock. Were quite a few ice/grit signs out, but very little in the way of ice or grit YEEHAA!!! so was a good strop up & over!! Quick lunch & very much enjoyed ice cold Kahlua at Havelock, & the decision was made to head round the block for the avo!!
So headed to Renwick to refuel, then off down the Waiau Valley heading towards Nelson Lakes! Tis a great piece of road through there!! & on a cracker of a day like today, the scenery heading towards the lakes with the mountains covered in snow, was just goooooorgeous!!
Luckily.. down the valley further, the bike behind me had stopped, so I stopped to check everything was ok.. which it was.. (weak bladder syndrome apparantly) but that then put us a way behind the others.. who had most unfortunately by this time, been sprung by the local constabulary.. :shit: We were all pulled over while he did his thing, :tugger: then he checked the rest of our bikes.. he asked for my wof, which was still in my wallet, being only a week old.. yippee!! (luckily he didn't ask to see the other thing.. :innocent:)
Dirty deed done.. we carried on our merry way heading towards the Lakes, (knowing said car was heading back towards Blenheim & couldn't cause any more trouble...) then turned off & headed back out on the road to Nelson. If ya know this road.. it's absolute motorcycle heaven through there!!! Truely gorgeous it is!! Stopped for a regroup & liquid refreshment at the Bellgrove Tavern for a while, & discussed the politics of the aforementioned tickets, with one holder sweating a lot, at the "lack" of demerit points left to accumulate.. before a certain 2 wheeled vehicular ends up parked in the corner in disgrace!!
All in all a VERY much enjoyed day.. & much 'needed' too I might add!!! Having ones sanity saver parked up over the winter months.. doesn't do much for one's "sanity".. :eek5: & I couldn't ask for a better way to spend.. belatedly celebrating me birfday!!! ;)
Jen
oh.. & sorry!!! but no pics.. forgot to take me camera... DOH!
