Spent 2 hours cleaning all the crap from mmmmm off my bike on Saturday. It looked really good.

On Sunday Glen wanted to go for a liitle ride so we went and checked tire pressurs etc...

And went to see what we could see..

It was a bit more slippery than we expected..

This is where I dropped the 660..

One magazine review called the xtx 'morbidly obese' and after picking it up yesterday I'm inclined to agree - 170 something kilos is faaat.

Cool ride marks.

What model and size tyre do you have on the front of there?
Have you written anything on how it handles tar compared to the previous ones you had mounted?

Hi

the tire is a TKC 80 120/90-17 and is a vast improvement on loose services over the pirelli scorpion A/T that I had on it before. On sealed surfaces I cant tell any differences - which is pretty high praise because I think the Pirelli was a 90% on road 10% off road type of tire and never gave me any cause for concern. I suspect though that I simply lack to skill/experience/confidence to really push the envelope on (or off) road and as a consequence will never find the real limits of these high quality tires.

Nah - its got another 5mm on the center knobs or so before if gets replaced - its been an awesome tire.

yup - looks like I rode it through a septic tank

Is that up in the Aka's Mark?

Up the very end of the Maungakotukutuku Valley Road. 15 minutes from home and we are in this stuff - we are so lucky :)
