I am deliberately posting this Wannabe and Newbie forum link here in the General Bike Stuff:

http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?p=1182576#post1182576

This whole theme of Where Did You Ride and What Did You Practise? was established as the result of the sad loss of our Mentor Uncle B, and by creating a perpetual thread with different people choosing posted items each week [now fortnight] I was hoping that in a small way the whole spirit of passing on knowledge/experience to the upcoming rider may be appropriate in this manner.

I know that perhaps that may be subject to a debate in its own right, but in keeping with the whole initial concept, of maintaining an interactive and participative forum, then debate should be unnecessary.

Any flack will be ignored, and any support greatfully received in anticipation.

Heads Up and Enjoy

Regular columns such as WDYRAWDYP require a considerable commitment to run and are always potential victims to flagging interest and enthusiasm. Maintaining interest requires the format to be revisited from time to time.

I think there will always be a bunch of new riders amongst us who will be interested in such material for a variety of reasons. A danger is that the content will inevitably become repetitious, to the potential annoyance of the QRF and other god-botherers.

It's important that we never lose sight of those who are seeking knowledge as to how to become better safer riders. That is our challenge. WDYRAWDYP has been a brilliant initiative, but it's probably now time to figure out something new.

I think you've done sterling work with this Guy, and have done Uncle B proud in the process.

Thank you Hitcher for your comments. Very much appreciated.

I would like to pass the torch on now to an enthusiastic member of the kiwibiker community. One who may want to be creative leading into spring and summer time and who will present a variety of 'gaining knowledge themes'.

To all those that have contributed to the Where Did You Ride and What Did You Practise? thank you.

My Mantra
Where Are You Riding?
How Are You Riding?
And Why Are You Riding Like That - Right Now?

Heads Up and Enjoy

Through spring and leading into summer, there well may be some creative ways in which to enhance the theme - skill development and new rider encouragement.

I have started with a proposed organised ride approach:

And the first ride is today: Fathers Day Ride
