More to the point hows the rider after that incident?

Not too bad. Slid side on into the car as I wanted to save the forks and frame steering head so I was able to half jump/half get flipped off over the car. I cleared the hood by 6ft plus according the the witness statements from the oncoming traffic! I landed on my ass then flipped up onto my feet. I was wearing full CE armour from the shins up under Shift MX Baggies, Shift armoured gloves, Shift CE Armoured Jacket, Helmet and race boots. I had one small bruise on my right shin from the car hood I think, one in the inside of my left knee from the tank and a sore butt from the landing. I also ripped a few muscles in the groin and left hip and also under my left side ribs. Otherwise unmarked and all the gear appears untouched!

What was really gutting was the fact we had spent all friday night and saturday morning finishing up a few mods, sorting out new piston and rings, fitting up a modded airbox and new chain and sprocket sets for heading out on a ride with the other half and her ZXR 400 next weekend.
The bike was humming! And I have just had the plastics tidied up in prep for some custom paint as well as a modded set of pipes and KX carbs for it!

Glad to hear you are remarkably okay after such an event! :gob: Crikey! Big ups to your reflexes and poos and wees and jobbies about the work you did on your bike

Still, in the big scheme of things - you're okay, less the :pinch: pulled groin muscles. Insurance and the rest of the rigamarole to follow...

naa, there are 2 more bikes in the garage and a car on NOS, so I'll be content while AFC and State sort out the 2 Stroke. Having dreams of TYGA bodywork now...

Bugger!

Rest up, I hope you get the KR1 back on the road, they are running out.

AFC did a quick search and Kawasaki Japan list pretty much ALL parts as still available, so now it just depends on the insurance company

Armour plus outstanding reactions= (largely)intact rider. Very impressive survival instincts. Well done. Great you're not another statistic.

TO BURST YOUR BUBBLE , and fall off caps the insurance will prob write off the bike and pay out so be prepared for that!

The other two are my partners rides. One outgoing and one newly arrived.
Funny considering I have only ever and always race on and for Yamaha in MX and SX

Well, they wrote it off and paid me out... alot! And I've been offered the chance to buy the bike back for ... NOT ALOT!!
I've got replacement parts for everything mechanical in my spares kit and already tried it all out, started it and ridden it round the block. Worked flawlessly. The bodywork is stuffed though.
However... 96-98 Aprilia RS250 bodywork bolts straight on with one bracket to mod at the front, either that or something tasty from TYGA...hmmm

Long story short, i get the old bike back, get enough money for a replacement and cash left over to cover the new bodywork. I'm a signwriter/helmet painter so the finish is no problems there... other than the bruising and pain, it looks to be win-win for me. Bizarre!
