We can now get XT Racing lap timers at good prices also...
there are two types, the simple model the "mini lap" and the flash one the "ultra lap". Prices are $230 for the Mini lap and $335 for the ultra lap. These timers use the same beacon as the AIM timers and only require one beacon at the track (except for split timing) beacons can be bought sperately for $120, or a package with the ultra lap and beacon for $390
details of these are
Mini lap
The basic functionality of the Ultra-Lap, but packaged in a much smaller case made of plastic. The Mini-Lap has an IR eyeball pointing out both sides for easy mounting. This unit, for all intents and purposes, is a stripped-down Ultra-Lap with just the bare essentials for timing laps.

Plastic housing
40 lap storage
99 lap counter
Auto turn-off
Best lap indicator
IR sensors on both sides

The Ultra Lap
Simple consistent, 4-button user interface
Extra-large, bold lap times are 0.6" (15mm) in height for easy visibility
Unique "auto turn-on" feature ? "turn it on and forget it" ? turn it on first thing on the morning of a race day and never worry about missing a lap again. The unit will auto turn-off but will automatically turn back on when it crosses the transmitter beam.
Auto power-down for extended battery life
At the end of a lap, a flashing green or red light indicates a faster or slower lap than the previous.
Accurate to 1/100 second per lap
Store approximately 2,000 laps/split times ? for many, a full season of racing
Each stored lap contains the following information:

Time of the lap, accurate to 1/100 second
Date and time of the lap
The track (or other identification) of the lap
A unique session identifier (to differentiate each race or practice session)
An indication if was the best lap of that session
Extensive customization via easy-to-use English menus:

Laps per race/session: 1-99 or do not count (lap countdown)
Minimum lap time: 1-250 seconds
Lap hold time (time the lap display is frozen at the end of a lap): 1-250 seconds
Display contrast/brightness setting: 31 levels
Enter name of track or other identification (stored with each lap): up to 12 characters
Option to display, at end of race, the first lap of session, the last lap of session or the fastest lap of session
Enable or disable the green/red flashing LED
Auto turn-off time: 1-30 minutes
Enable or disable the auto-turn-on feature
Enter 1 or 2 lines of personalization information: up to 20 characters per line
Quick deletion of all stored laps
Main screen has a battery level indicator that shows when the batteries need to be replaced
Uses 1 readily-avaliable inexpensive AA battery
Ability to download all lap data to a PC using the optional download module, sold separately

I know the guys over here in the US that make these. Its a family business with one of the guys racing AMA Superbikes and these products are used by the majority of people racing here in the US. This is an awesome product as I currently have one on my bike and couldn't ask for more. Great product at a great price.

That really is a good price compared to what I've seen on eBay to buy one and get it shipped over here (not even taking in to account Customs charges if you get pinged for those).

Good on ya Tim39. Hopefully I've got enough $$ after fixing my bike to get one of these.

Have you got stock of these or will you be ordering as you need them? What's the lead time?

Cheers.

At this stage we are planning to keep them in stock, and are expecting them within the next two weeks, which timer are you thinking of? (ultra or mini?)
If you know when you're going to get one, let us know so we can definately have one in stock for when you want it.

The $382 package with the Ultra and Beacon would seem the way to go, as I imagine most people wouldn't want to rely on someone else at the track having a beacon.

Will be in touch.

You'd be suprised, I know I was... between the AIM and the XT racing lap timers there are usualy plenty at the track, but for test days or the like then there's the need for your own beacon.

I've been wanting one of these for ages!

They have so many benefits such as seeing what works for bike setup, trying lines to see if theyre faster or not, and generally to put in faster laps. count me in on one, will be in touch asap!

Cheers,
