I have obtained a 89cc honda motorbike engine (I don't know what type of bike it's from, Im guessing a CT200 or similar) for use in a gokart. It uses coil ignition (with a 6V battery). Anyone know how to identify what it's from so I can get a manual for it?

I am also having trouble understanding the kick start wiring and connecting it correctly.

There are four wires coming from the kick start, two of which generate voltage when the engine is turned over. The coil has two wires and the lead for the spark plug. There is a heat insulated wire coming from the head of the engine.

There is device that consists of several plates bolted through the center, with a wire between each one that I believe has to be connected between the coil and the wires from the motor, but as for how I do not know :)

Looks like it could be a CT90, you could try doing a search for a manual

sure is a CT90, that wire coming out of the left hand side of the head is for the points (ignition system)

Thanks for identifying it - I've now found a couple of sites with manuals. Hopefully from that, I should have more success with firing it up.
