View Full Version : My role on KB.

Joni
30th August 2007, 14:42
Well the time has come guys.

I have thought about this long and hard, and after all the abuse and threats I have had to face, the high horses I have had to watch people ride, the drama, and the inconsistencies, all has left me unhappy, and I needed to re-look at my role on KB.

I have spoken with Spank and instead of withdrawing completely from the KB mod team, I will be moving away from my day interaction with the KB members and taking care of stuff behind the scenes.

I will still be part of the Senior mod team helping run the site. Doing all the stuff I have always done… I just won’t be as involved with you guys anymore…. So from now on I’m the bright pink “Site facilitator”… all the drama wont be my baby anymore (God I need to get drunk to celebrate), and all I will be doing is help run the site.

I am still doing the calendar and the KB birthday bash… so lets make it a goodie guys!

Just a note from me: I have put my everything into this site, it seems that it’s not enough for some. People have lost “Joanne” somewhere… and all everyone seems to see is Joni this internet “thing” that you can say and do what you like to. My good friend Jimmy (White Trash) once told me I’m too sensitive to do the Mod thing, I think he was right.

I’m here if you need help, advice what ever… I will help where ever I can, just not the drama and abuse. I’m over that part.

If that picture is of one of you that's caused Joni to do this then grow the fuck up and don't bother coming to any event that I'm at unless you want that smile wiped of your face.

This is a great site with allot of people do great things for other and I have met some awesome people on here. It all stated from meeting the one and only WT and him putting me onto it. It's a shame there has to be some pricks out there that try to ruin it. Unfortunately that is life and these people need to get one!!!!

Joni I'm sorry to hear that you have had to put up with these scumfucks and it's a shame there's not a way to stop them using the site.

I would like to say thanks for all you've done and glad you're not leaving all together.

I've never met you and never abused you (or anyone for that matter) but I am still disappointed that so much gets moderated on this site as it seems in the name of keeping things pure and perfect. Why have we been so worried about keeping things on topic, why have we been so worried about random discussion? It happens in normal conversation so why can't it happen here? If threads lose their interest they die naturally so why put anything in PD at all? I think I'm a friendly harmless bugger, but cripes even some of my comments have ended up in PD. I cannot believe so many of our old crew would sooner post over at ADVRider (like Motu) when really they are part of our family, not some Yankee community. Whatever, all the best for your new role.

p.s. nice to see Finn is still posting, I was concerned for a while there we would lose his witty input.

If abuse occurs in normal conversation the abuser could expect a punch in the mouth.
Societies need rules and regulations in order to function properly and prevent anarchy.
As we see on KB nothing is kept pure and perfect, many people voice differing points of view. But when personal attacks occur, something has to be done. Just like in everyday life, every action has a reaction.
Moderators are needed to keep this site functioning, just as society needs moderators.

PS Thanks Joni for doing a good job as a moderator. Hope to meet up with you at the KB Birthday Party in CHCH.

Now that what she said truly was pointless drivel.

Poor girl. Part of me felt sorry for her. She's only 18 and in an interview she said she was so nervous that she only heard about 2 words of the question. Still, you might argue her answer was perfect in that it was probably a better response than most middle class Americans. Kinda like asking 80% of Kiwi's what the EFB is all about... No it's not about rugby.

And yet none of this matters. With her looks, some 80 year old Texas oil baron will win her heart.

If abuse occurs in normal conversation the abuser could expect a punch in the mouth.....................

i don;t want to get into this because it's personal - and i had thought that the entire thing had been done and dusted

i do agree with you
but
sometimes insult is given to you or one of yours and all you HAVE is words posted in cyberspace

because NOT to post them would be be 'approbation' or 'approval' or [sheeesh *shudder* agreement]

it doesn't mean that someone WOULDn't prefer to take up the argument face to face [ii would prefer this]

it doesn't mean that someone precludes the possiblilty of taking up the argument face to face [i look forward to it]

in my case - i welcome it - i look FORWARD to it - i want it

in the universe all things are variable
if the person concerned shows that they have grown and are now amenable to reason ............ well - i am also a part of the universe

but, realistically - [B]if you attack one of mine, it's not unreasonable to expect that i come down on you??

why not?
pointless to persue something already done an dusted in cyberspace that. really, needs to be settled face to face

- no point in persuing it here? - or don't you agree?

If someone does a crap job, you fire them, and if they do a good job, you commend them.

or vote them into government!!!! :nono:

Joni - I will always be grateful that you took my order for a calendar last year even though I was so late sorting it out. Having the Kiwibiker calendar at Burwood made things so much more bearful for John

Cheers Donna :scooter:

Your post was in reply to Mutley - what exactly did she do or say to incur your veiled threats and venom?

...........Your post was in reply to Mutley - what exactly did she do or say to incur your veiled threats and venom?

nothing veiled and no venom - just a point of view - in agreement, actually, with things being better sorted out face to face [that's the message i got from the post i responded to .......... apologies if i was wrong] and bemoaning the fact that that isn't always immediately possible ... no offence to Mutley - i obviously phrased it badly if you thought it ...
