It is in his name, so legally he owns it.
He has no grounds for an appeal to have it released.

Granted I don't know Mark very well, but he is a young man that needs guidance. He is young and think he knows everything, we have all been there at some times and either learnt or got away with it to learn another day.
Him going thru court and having a crim record is a harsh way to learn, I just wish there is another way thats all.
Sending him to the Army would be a good idea me thinks.

Yeh i'm with Zapf on this.
For those of you that wern't young and stupid, your assistance is needed elsewhere tendering to helmet polishing.
As much a moron as ol' Skidmark is, he doesn't deserve 'groan' men playing tit-for-tat on the internet.
Keep it in your blogs folks.
How much does mark still owe on the bike? Is there any chance he has any form of insurance to cover it?

Vehicle registration/licensing does not imply ownership.

Mark and insurance are two things which have never been associated. About the army, Im not sure I'd be very happy if I saw Mark holding a firearms as im sure adhd and guns dont mix very well. Mark still owes quite a bit on the bike due to the fact that hes unemployed and has been for some time and the dol only pays out 200 a week. Seeing how mark rides perhaps this may be the only way he will learn, I mean, He only got his license back in june and back then he was saying he was going to ride more responsibly, so far I have yet to see any responsibility in him.

Mate, I know your intentions are good, and god knows Mark needs some guidance ... but I don't think grassing him to the real owner of the ZXR is really any of your business.
Dunno. Walking on thin ice here, I know, but Mark has got to start taking steps towards responsibility on this one and I do think he has a small right to privacy. Admittedly he waives a lot of it by posting here but still...

The previous owner of his ZXR is Phenoix as far as i know.
I've known mark for nearly 3 years now, and he hasn't changed one bit. All the times he's said he is going to be more responsibly etc etc etc he just goes back to being 'him'... Kinda like a slutty female member of this site, but thats a whole different set of episodes/movies/etc

Oarbreaka, I don't think you're really qualified to judge Mark.

Bourgeois middle class pretty boy. What makes you so high and mighty, did your mummy say you were special?

My mummy says I'm special. That's why I get to ride in the short bus with the tinted windows.
I just got caught up with Mark's, umm, situation. Can't really pretend I'm surprised. I understand the sentiment in this thread, but I agree that there's not much anyone on here can do to change him.

mark there are 2 options, a)you either get away with it or b) you dont
making mistakes doesnt make you a lemon, not learning from them does
get your shit together before your loved ones send you away
p.s - we should go for a ride haha

Thanks guys, I am trying to advice the real owner they need to have it registered on www.ppsr.govt.nz otherwise when the court looks at the bike there will be no interest registered against it.
If there is interest registered then I don't think the court can just take it without regards for the parties owned money.

There are ways to have a taste of Army life in an easy 7 week course that gives you a good dose of life skills.
Called Limited Service Volunteers, run by WINZ and the NZDF out of Burnham for young people, its free and can be used to help reduce sentences......

i tried to get into that when i got back from canada. applied via winz, and got a letter back saying i was too heavy... that was at my skinny stage! so if mark has a shred of weight on his bones, he likely wont get in.

No, dude, he's right. Liking sex doesn't make someone a bad person.
Lying, cheating, stealing and cowardice do.

Anyway, let's all try and be nice to Mark. He doesn't deserve opprobrium for his foolish riding. Just a little guidance, perhaps...

I spent a few years in the Army and it didn't help with the self control or idiot behaviour.
All you end up doing is learning to drink heavily with a bunch of young (and older ) idiots with everyone egging each other on.
You also become very good at weighing up the options, will I get caught, won't I get caught.
When I get caught, what will be the ramifications, and then when you've decided not to do it, you do it anyway because you are being egged on by drunken idiots to be the man, or the legend.
The urge to be attention seeking / thrill seeking never goes, it just takes a back seat to the annoying times of dealing with the consequences of your actions. Some people take longer than others to come to the conlusion it's just not worth it. Some people never learn.

And yet the Army can hardly drink at all..... go the PUSS!
The course I suggested is a good one as its not just Army training but has allot of Civvy contractors come in and teach things from Budgeting to Goal Setting and the like.
Plus you get to do a few outdoor activities and run and do push ups..... all the good stuff.
