Just getting into it myself and keen to swap notes - find out what tools are available/best etc etc etc.
I found FXCM Trading Station (http://www.fxcm.com/)... seems pretty good but the ability to automate some stuff seems lacking (or am I just too ambitious?).
Just a role call is fine - and keen to pick up on thoughts over a beer or three.

Many moons ago I used to operate a small desk for vanilla trades. Predominately for importers and exporters. First wife was also an FX dealer. Still have the occasional punt and yes I am kicking myself for not getting on the NZD at 80 cents.
A good company for actually booking deals is OMF Financial. Rather than scalp the small guy through the quoted rate they will look to take a transaction fee. Both fees and rates quoted are very competitive, better than you could likely negotiate with a trading Bank as most individuals wont have direct Treasury access. Also offer a better range of products for the small guy. I had one of my colleagues model up their option pricing and it’s sharp. Have a chat with them.
Happy to have a beer with you. I'm in Albert st.
