Ok, compared to Her B4's (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/member.php?u=1039) she's a milf but I'm stoked. Put it this way, she's the first bike I've taken a loan out for (I decided I aint gettin any younger). Decent pics to follow (sun was going down and my camera is past its sell by date). Think I've still got a semi from listening to her deep throaty tones.

Dealer said 748R. I suspect it's a 748S that's had the 5 spokers and tergi pipes fitted.

Grumble, are you joking. I'm the luckiest wee scheemie from Grangemouth. It's been a long time comin getting a bike that nice mate. I'm having my mid-life chrisis at 30. Gawd knows how I'll afford to service her :-)

Almost as strange as finding another Scottish Vfr750 rider in the same small (4000 pop) kiwi town working at the same bike shop.

Bet you aint got a banjo tho!

I've been grinning all day

With the amount of dodgy pollutants in Grangemouth I wouldn't be surprised if you've already got the correct number of fingers for the local Banjo playing!

Noticed the rs-harada.com lettering on the fairing. Had a nosey...
http://www.rs-harada.com/event/070414one&two/070414e.jpg

On closer inspection it looks like I have bagged myself a lesser spotted "r"

Missus is wondering why I'm not out on her today but there's 'cough' big black clouds. Come on the sun. Might take the VFR out for one last spin before it's new owner collects it this morning.

Termi's sound awesome....shame about the dry clutch (although the carbon cover thingie that shows it spinning is pretty bling).
Keeping her in alarmed & monitored garage. With all the girlfriends horsey and farmy stuff lying around I've been planing to invest in video cameras anyways so this is the kick up the ar$e I need.

Wooooohoooooooooooo!
Who the hell talked ya into that one!!!! lol

Hard to tell from the pics, but if it's got Ohlins forks and rear shock then it's bound to be a genuine 'R' if its 2001, 2000 models had showa suspension. Check the frame/engine number, 'R' s start with ZDM 748 R OB .................

Awesome bike dude:niceone: I hope your riding down to visit this weekend:cool:

Speaking of sex on wheels.......I rode my 749R at the weekend:love: Its off to the paint shop this week to have the fairings/tank painted........Black:devil2:

........just a few more tweaks and he's all go, waiting on new fork internals so we just had the forks dummied to get the bike together (crap .....no wheelies), but the parts have arrived so the awsome guys froml Ohlins are getting them together and back to me next week:niceone:
The Termi system sounds fantastic, so forks and paint and roll on the test day on the 21st so I can go play:Punk:

nice company vehicle (cough)
by the time you get the gst and depreciation back, it'll be the best Ducati bargain ever!

looks awesome, expect a .wav/mp3 file to be loaded soon, although as I live only 25km from you, perhaps I should just stand outside my place while you warm it up

Arrrgh, the 1,000,000 dollar question. Decided to ride it on road for a month or two to get used to it first. It's far too nice for balls out racing and I'd be guttered if I dropped it....at least untill some of the bank loan is paid off.
Will wait until I get cheap (er) aftermarket plastics (from gawd knows where) and fuel tank before pootling around on the track. Should still beat Flame though, she's just on a more expensive mobile chicane as far as I'm concerned :-)

I know it's only Clubmans B but I want to try and win it on my clapped out cbr before getting some mid-pack (hopefully) experience in f3. 748 might make an appearance at PMCC in Clubmans A. F2 is too scary and I doubt I'd even qualify.

Fair enough dude. I'd definitely take those mint fairings off before taking it on the track.

Were it me I'd also maybe get some cheap cans made up. The thought of those sexy Termi's cracking as they hit the deck is too much to bare.

Ho ho. Pished rain all week and been flat out with work. woke up this morning, did 1 job and then as it was so nice and sunny I told my boss (moi) that I'm throwing a sickie and spent all day out on the bike. Fark me I've been overriding that old VFR750. You know a bike's good when you're just cruising round a corner, look down at the speedo and realise you're going much faster without trying. Haven't fell in love with the Ducati engine yet though .....!

Very Very Nice.
Massimo's design is second to none.
Some bikes look just cool but this is a work of art.

But are you ready for the Stone chip onslaught? :shit:

All good

Bit of investigation into her. Dunno what the front fork are (I am a noob). The rear is definitely showa. I think she's a 2000 748R but I'm still not sure....
First bit of frame no:
ZDM - Ducati
H300AA - The 4th digit is 1=US; 3=ROW; H=Homologation special
Y - 2000
B - Made in Bolognia not Varese.

Now I need to find a suitable stand for her as I can't even adjust the bloody chain at the moment. :crybaby: Anyway, I've been polishing & adding coats of turtle wax to her. I'm in love. Still looking for her colour code to fix the stone chips before covering her in clear plastic.

Found some online manuals (none for an 'r' though), I'll be adjusting the tappets (har har) by next week.

I guess I'm turning into one sad man  More bike porn attached...it's hard to get a good photo with the paint reflecting so much.

Seems a shame to ride her as she'll get (shh....) sullied. At least I'll get to ride the ass out of the ex for a few days at Mansfield :devil2:

Wowee Scratcha - that 'tis a thing of beauty to be sure!! That stone guard plastic sure is worth it. I had it on Patrick (my 748) and my new baby is covered as well - can't be too careful eh? Balancing the enjoyment of riding it with the enjoyment of keeping it beautiful :scooter:

Interesting bike to ride in the very few laps that I did on it. Shame it rained before I could attempt to get my head around it.
