Did you have a go at it last year Danger?

Danger

Do you know if chop, buddy L and co are doing it this year?
Also if you don't mind answering as I know you are an expert in this field, while i was putting new fork seals in the lads new rm80 i noticed the Teflon? had worn of the brg the fork slider on the left hand shock can this be recoated and what if i let it run completely down to the copper is it new shocks or can they be repaired?

yeah seen the YOUtube vid of you looked pretty awesome. I don't know if i could do 3hrs non stop. but will give GNCC a go anyway.

Danger
3rd September 2007, 00:52
I'll try again, the internet keeps dropping out on me. Hope its sorted before tomorrows race!
If the bushes are damaged they will need to be replaced. Otherwise stiction and harshness will be a problem. I see alot of butchered bushes that have been put back into forks. The tolerances are fine, damaged bushes will comprimise your suspensions smooth action.
I saw Chop today but I'm not sure what his plans are. I think he is looking to sell his big green trailie and get another race bike.

I don't really like anything under 3 hours. Seems like a waste of a day for anything less than a 3 hour ride. Like MX, usually only get an hours riding over the day with the short races they have these days, yet it takes up your whole day. I think the GNCC races are only 2 hours, is that right? Thats why I have not bothered with them in the past. Would rather go trail riding and get a decent ride in, although even alot of those the tracks seem to get closed way to early.

A&R
3rd September 2007, 01:14
Depends how fastyou are I suppose.
It was three hours for me last year at woodhill. Waimiha had to be seen to be beleived. it haled at one point and that was I January. I never been on a more slippery ride in my life. I could hardly stand up afterwards. having said that I just went straight into it. I had only bought the bike a day before and stupidly thought I could do the same as I did 20yrs ago.

3 hours racing Danger. and the tracks are usally open terrain stuff with hardly any tight stuff.

Danger

OK cheers, I thought they were shorter than 3 hours. Would be nice if there was a mixture of tight and open stuff. See you guys there, perhaps. Better get to bed so I can get up early for Ben Townleys race in the morning.
Spot ya!

The GNCC is only two hours, I think last year the expert and elite classes might have been three hours, but they are listed as only being two hours this year.

Anyway two hours non stop is more than enough for me, but I will be doing the full series this year for sure.

You going in clubman dammad or rookie?

Danger
4th September 2007, 08:22
And what is the cost for the privelage of riding my bike for only two hours?

Reckless
4th September 2007, 14:42
yeah if Cheese and some of you guys go I might come and eat your roosts. Is there a web site we can suss it out, like where the rounds are, classes etc. I'd be a vet or rookie I suppose, hehe never raced but am old lol. Do you need your minz race licence, belong to a club etc and same question as danger how much to enter.

TIA

Danger
4th September 2007, 16:03
Here you go, no info on prices and only one round in Auckland. I probably won't bother traveling to any of these for a two hour ride.

ill do the auckland round of the Gncc, damaged my AC joint in my shoulder last year after 2 rounds.
Last year i was in clubman and it was 4 laps i think,
Better go for some runs after work and try and get fit!!
Price was steep, about 50 bucks i think.
and no liecence required.

4th September 2007, 19:07
You going in clubman dammad or rookie?

I thought I would do the full season in the novice class and see where i end up. the one gnncc that there was some pretty quick riders in the novice class so I think that will be hard enough.

I think it was $50 bucks last year and although its only 2 hours its a hard 2 hours and when i'm finished i'm always glad that its over.

Most of all I just like the thrill of competing.

4th September 2007, 20:36
I think I might do it too as next year I'll not be able to ride any where near as much as I do now..... This is a good thing though....... :)

Buddy L

Last year im sure that Elite and Expert were 5 laps
Clubman and novice was 4 laps
Rookie and Women were 3 laps

Hey reckless I'm the other side of 40 and cant say I'm particularly fit (you're only as old as you feel :woohoo::blip:)
I intend doing the lot if I can. Its hard work but good fun. I suppose it is espensive $50 bucks each race. The GNCC link in one of the above posts will give you the rules but they are in the middle of revamping it at the moment. They usually post the results a day or two after on the site.
The woodhill round was just about OK last year. I was knackered at the end of it. I have had my bike for just about a year now so i hope to do better than last year. I would have thought as you do ardmore and MX the whoops won't be a problem for you at woodhill. Roll on the 13th October.

Nah Cheese will be under the thumb having to to attend kiddies parties storing up brownie points add nauseum etc etc...to get out once a month for a half day if he's lucky.
Then when he can ride he will have to stay in the carpark watching junior putt around on his LT50 at 5km/hr.
Happened to many a good man that I used to ride with. :baby:

Na nothing wrong with my swimmers, her eggs don't come down as scheduled.

Found out alot about conceiving and pregnancy in the past year. Amazing to think how many unwanted pregnancies out there when you only have a 12-48 hour window to get knocked up!

LOL might have to go to the dark side!!!

Also there is a very high likely hood that it will be a girl as working with RF equipment all the time can effect you in some way that you are more likely to have a girl. So anyway I'm sure she will be kicking the boys ass round the tracks.

Oh and April the 9th is my wedding anniversary! LOL but it is due around the 16th I think.
