Road advice for north of Lake Rotoiti?

planning a route and wondering if the road north of lake rotoiti is sealed or not.

looking at turning off SH33 at maniatutu road and rotoehu road into pongakawa valley onto old coach road and then onto SH2 towards opotiki.

Is this route sealed?

hey there the top of maniatutu is unsealed pongakawa valley is unsealed all of old coach road is sealed and is an excellent choice away from main road just be careful to read road signs as it is not a continual road. You do have to make some turn offs. You can easily get misled by sticking to the one seemingly same road.
