A friend just brightened my day by sending flowers to me at work to say thanks for the help I have provided to them in times of trouble of the past few months.
All I did was lend an ear and a shoulder to cry on, and offer advise as much as I could. Basically just being a friend and being there like good friends should be.
Its amazing how a small gesture like sending flowers can mean so much.

Never preface with 'all I did' ..... you gave them time and an ear and sounds like you were there for them generally when they needed you, that is such a big thing - Good on you.

Not half as much as your support meant to them I'm sure!! :first::sunny:

Yeah something like that can really make your day. Good on you for helping them. :sunny:
I used to have a friend who had this motto in life that no day would end withough him doing something special or letting at least one of the people he cares about know that he appreciates what you are to him. He was a good man!

its just quite funny when your beliefs are you are there for your friends and family no matter what, yet the gift of flowers makes you realise that you are actually doing something that someone really appreciates, even though I see it as a way of life and thats just who I am so to me I never really did anything special and i know if needed that this persons shoulder will be there for me one day or should I say has been there for me.

The best gift to any person, be a true friend you have been to yours and they have responded in a lovely way, treasure the thought, it can be an ugly world out there and we all need a friend.....

Time is one of the most precious things we have (or don't, as the case maybe).
Time is what you gave your friend, it is nice that they recognised how precious the gift you gave was.

I dunno - I recieved a random gift of a fabulous book from a KB regular and general nice guy a week or so back and it lifted my day beyond belief - made the whole week in fact... he knows who he is - I'm still stoked! He even wrapped it nicely!

I don't see the point - you can't eat flowers. Unless you dip them in chocolate or deep fry them after coating them in batter.

Visited a friend in horsepiddle a while back. Took the usual, flowers/chocolates.
On leaving, I presented a flower and a couple of chocs to the help desk nurse in A+E(i had to go that way anyway).
The look of gratitude on her face was priceless. Try it. Its a great "warm and fuzzy" moment.:2thumbsup
