Hey Stonechucker,

I was feeling sorry for you today, too sorry, I think, and decided to see what it feels like to go down the road. Too much front brake at the lights on white paint and over we go.

Fortunately not too much damage to the bike, front indicators gone (That why they are called indicators). Little bit of paint off the main fairing and one extra crack.

The funnest part about it was I was actually on my way to get some paint to paint a bit of my fairing

Only damage to me was my pride and hopefully only a twisted ankle (ITS NOT BROKEN), I broke it in my last bin.

Bloody hell! What the heck is going on? This can't be normal binnage.

Have we had a dry season in the last few months?

Has everybody's good luck run out at once?

I think we need to sacrifice a biker virgin to satisfy the biker gods. Is there anyone left who hasn't been down the road? :spudwhat:

[QUOTE=Zed]I'm sorry you joined the club!

Possible record for bike dropping in a single day...

DROP ONE
Fuckers at mobile alarm specialists strike again. Go to remote start bike sunday morning, only to see it jump foward in gear (no, it's not supposed to be able to start in gear  ) and fall over! Dented exhaust. LHS.

DROP TWO
Low side on big ass roundabout in Ham's, full leathers and riding gear so no damage to me, small scratch on exhaust. RHS. Never let go of bike, just stood up, shook head, started bike and rode off. The cause... silicone on tyres... Dont ask!

DROP THREE
At home scrubbing up tyres with wire brush/sandpaper to remove offending silicone. Bike leans too far upright... struggling to hold the heavy beartch up... to no avail... over she topples... no damage :brick:

That is a bad day for any biker!!!

There's definitely something in the air at the moment.

Coming out of Aitken Street on to Molesworth on the way home, the bike decided to go completely sideways on me.

I remembered the golden rule "Never let go of the throttle", stuck my leg out and did a lovely motocross slide for about 50 metres up Molesworth St. Just got it under control in time to slam on the brakes for some clown doing a SMIDSY and pulling in front of me to go down the lane on the side of the old Thorndon tavern. Aaargh. Cold tyres and just wet roads - not a good mix. Still, didn't fall off... <_<

I feel for all you guys.

I would mention that I only ever crash bikes in June, but THEY might be listening, so I'll say it real quietly.

The weather around Welly lately has been dry/wet/cold/dry/wet/warm and it's making the roads really iffy.

Let's be careful out there people...

Yeah, I was probably only doing about 10km/h when I actual came off. I had actually slowed quite a bit before the intersection so I'm not sure if was just really slippery paint or what :thud: Normally rely on Engine braking quite a bit so could have just been my bad day. Hopefully the foot ant broken I haven't been out of plaster that long. 2 bins in 5 months :brick: Might have to go see a doctor :doctor: tomorrow if it is still quite saw.

Firstly this was a little off (ie the bike was stil rideable). Secondly I had made it home and was off again to get some paint to paint part of my bike but instead went to the bike shop and ordered a new indicator and taped my old one back together (Yes it does work, has a new bulb though, and you can see it fine)

decided to see what it feels like to go down the road
You could have just asked Dave, I'd have said not so good...

Holy Sh)*, it's an epidemic & please quarantine yourselves
I've hired a warehouse for 3 months, so from Friday night, we're boarding ourselves up in there. Tickets available at the door.

the LTSA dropping slippery desil al over the road
Hell yeah, I'm convinced that I hit something like that. There's no way you loose traction at the speed/angle I was doing

did a lovely motocross slide for about 50 metres
That scares me, only because there's no way I'd be able to MotoX slide 5cm's, so I'd prob bin. When I finally get back on my bike, I's sure gonna take it easy for a while billy bob. I's not going to be kissing my purdy sister (tarmac) anytime soon as long as I can help it!

what if you are in a plane at 30'000 ft
From experience (not in practice mind you), you glide down, and make a forced landing. That is assuming you can glide...

Does anyone know if the biker gods have any mercy? Surely I'll be safe for the next 18 months, now that I've appeased them? Ok, now lets all close our eyes, and say grease, I mean grace

Well the bikes all back together. I glued up the crack in the fairing which isn't too bad. Indicator will stay taped up until the new one arrives. While I had the fairing off I noticed that battery mount (goes underneather battery) was looking a bit rusty so I'll have to get that welded up before it snaps.

Didn't end up going to see the doctor as foot is feeling a bit better so think it is just sprained.

Yesturday I was having a think about my bin and was wondering what I had done defferent different than usual and realised I had put an extra 8 psi (25->33) in the front tyre on the weekend. So I recon that's what made me bin it, well that's my excuse anyway.

Not sure how long it was low for. Could just just need more hard riding to get use to it/wear it in a bit more as still fearly new tyre.

I'm not sure I want to go riding with you guys any more with mirrors and calipers getting thrown left and right
