Not as big or as adventurous at the MMMM ride, but I still managed over 700km on the weekend.

I decided the weather wasnt too bad,so at 6am I left Hawkes Bay for the big Smoke of Hamilton to catch up with my other passion, the WRC (World Rally Champs)
It was a good blast up the highway, and made it to Mystery creek in plenty of time.

Not a lot of gravel this time, but I have to say I still love the Whaanga Coast!!:Punk: I camped about half way along so I could get a prime spot for the WRC on Sunday!!

The weather was beaut on the Saturday, but heavy rain on Sunday morning which cleared in time for the big ride home back to Hawkes Bay.

The weekend was great, even the 2 of the worlds best rally drivers were separated after 400km of racing, by 0.3 secs!!!

The bike is perfect for this, park anywhere, zip in and out of traffic (in fact most of the traffic pulled over for me )

Pics
1 My bike parked at Mystery Creek for the Super Special Stage
2 My camp
3 Great roads out to the coast, and NO traffic :eek5:
4 Even had a campfire
5 Can get windy here though
6 Whaanga Coast Road

4 Local Hero - Richard Mason (1st kiwi to finish)
5 Henning Solberg (Norway)
6 Anyone spot the rear tyre

I love it!
(except when you are trying to erect the tent when its pissing with rain:shit:)

By the way all the photos were taken with the new waterproof camera (also used for the MMMM Ride)
It is good :Punk:

So you got the u770 like mine then - they do seem to be a pretty good camera but as I mentioned elsewhere I was just slightly disappointed it doesn't take as sharp a picture as my old C770.

I am running TKC80's front and rear, they are great on the gravel, but the rear is wearing quite quickly, I have done about 6k on them so far ;)

Wicked pix Zukin, Sounds like you hit the nice weather for once...!

Let us know next time you decide to take off impromptu to go see the rally camping, I'd be keen... However I always use a inflatable mattress in my tent, better than home I reckon.

I saw your name down on the SI passes ride poll, are you serious about this? Nick, Triboy and I are keen, may pick you on the way down (short way down)...

Here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=53501) is the thread in regards to the camera
I have to say I am impressed, here is a selection of moving shots that I am impressed with for an amateur

What I really like about it is that it is waterproof, so I can leave it in my pocket and not worry when it is raining :first:

yeah it was good on Sat, but pissed down during the night and had the odd shower on Sunday, but I dont care to much about the weather now, especailly after the first few Adventure Assault trips

Yes I am keen, depends on a few things really
1. Leave from work (if I have any left after this seasons motorsport calendar :shit:, and I am waiting to see if they are going to approve leave for a planned trip up North on the bike in Oct
2. Timing and if I can manage 2 trips to the South Island

But the guys down there are great and I have to get down there and ride with them, they really are a great bunch of guys ( and gals that I met when we were down there) :first:

if I do are you keen to ride gravel all the way to Welly? :Punk:

Scott it is a shame that I did not know you were going up there as I would have liked to have met you up there to watch the cars.

Also bad news team, some of you met Judi on the wwwww ride, she has decided to leave me, hopefully the KTM will survive the carve up of assets (if it doesnt you might see me on a future ride on some cheap old bike BUT still on the ride!!!)

Dude :shit:
I am sorry to hear of your news, but at all costs keep the KTM!:niceone: (joke in times of sadness or stress)

Well if you need a mate to ride with to clear your mind, just yell out, as you have some good friends now that enjoy your company:niceone:

All the best Scott

Glad you enjoyed the Rally NZ Scott. It was difficult choosing between that and the Cold Kiwi.
I entered the gravel roads just nth of Te Kuiti to travel sth because I didn't want to meet a WRC car coming the other way on a return road.:gob:
Found a few more roads out the back of Tauramanui that will suit the Adv boys.
Nice pics by the way.

HAHA
See that is where I am different, I actually overtook Mikko Hirvonen (Ford Focus) when he had to stop to let a campervan out of the way, we then went for it, when i had to stop at the road closure sign, he slowed down and gave me a wave, and he was smiling as much as I was
