Normally I am really impatient/impulsive. I don't know why I'm not so bothered about this. It WILL however take me a while to look over everything, and convince myself she's good as new when I get her back. I'm thinking she'll feel different aswell. Time will tell.

mate, speaking of kneesplitting.. i too once did a full custom job on my vt honda(and a ford falcon), splitting my kneecap in half in the process...(as well as my forearm & various other sundry items) I had Jeans on also at the time so I know your pain...

back to the subject of under-seat exhausts, isn't it interesting that Suzuki didn't go that route with the 2005 gsxr1000 as everyone was expecting. There's a lot of disappointed people out there who wanted the underseat and quite a few don't like the 'weird' new Suzuki muffler.

I never had problems with Duc916 or MV F4.....but I tell you that new CBR1000 when you are riding behind them when the rider is hunched just right....hmmm...if I'm gay I'd probably be inclined to ride up closer and closer :laugh:

personally i don't like th e way the japs do undertails, i am glad they didn't go undertail but i also don't like that damn exhust they have put on the 05 1k

I like being able to see exhust, i mean if you go to all that money putting an after market can on your want to be able to see it not hide it away

Ok Mate, just stay 5 metres back alright. Despite mags slagging off the sound of my CBR1000RR I find the noise is quite hot from the riders seat. Bystanders tell me its too quiet. So I have ordered the Micron 2 outlet jobbie. It better prove worth the cost and give more noise, more power and give head, oops, sorry,backspace backspace

Hehehe the other guy that lives with me and SlushWylde has been known to on occasion after a few beerz :drinkup:go up to my bike and make "oh oh, yeah baby, yeah" noises whilst thrusting pelvically at my underseat....well not MINE you understand, the bike's.

Underseat zorsts are cool, I second the ducati's and MV style too and the Yammie R1 is yummy as well. Twin pipes a more stylie than the single up an unders and the MV's four cans look awesome. And lately for me it's one less item to scratch.

I dont like some of the underseat designs - generally because of the way the headers are routed - for example the R1 has them routed by the rear shock and i'm not a fan of putting a 500C pipe next to something that has to run relatively cold.

My design for an inline-4 is to have two 2 into 1 exhausts, running up from under the engine, then out to the side and along each side of the bike (vtr style) then come in under the hip (thats the bit of the seat unit that sticks out on the duke and cbr just behind the riders butts with the air vent).

The only problem I am having at the moment is working out how to do a flat megaphone which will be requried to shorten the end-can to the desired length.

Since my little 'off' I had recently, it made me think about the underseat exhaust idea. From a practical point of view, this would have to be a great idea, in that there would be less chance of damage. In the ideal world, it would be nice if manufacturers offered a choice of exhaust styles with each model.
