There's been a lot of talk on what's meant to be the new model of the Ninja 250 (GPX 250).

http://www.pashnit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13387

If this is true, then hot damn, that is one damn sexy 250.

it could quite possibly be as i dont see the exposed opposing direction frame (between the tank & fairings) that sports bikes have

looks way too good for gpx though??? but cant be zzr, what about gpz ?

could also be zxr for all we know, could be a 4 cylinder underneath them green bits

EDIT scratch that, looking closer at first pick you can see the two header pipes coming down, and also with single front disk.

i ruled that out straight away because it still has that skinny look, an il4 would be bulging out the sides

for all u know it may be fake.. still looks a bit fishy to me, but if not it was way overdue for an update, i cant believe they would leave it the same for 20 years then not kill it for a new series (maybe this is what it is)

They seem to be going to alot of trouble filming an add?? for a fake!
If true I wonder if we'll have to look at this for another twenty years, personally I wouldn't mind it looks cool.

no only 2, the gpx came out in 86 and had an update in 88 from then on hardly anything at all, colours and graphics, indicators, and clocks, no frame or shape changes

It could be some 20th anniversary or something.
Either way, I wouldn't mind if it was real, will give the shorter riders something sleek to ride and contend with hyosungs gtr hehe

I like the style lol
It almost has the look of ZX-6R :)

But I doubt that the bike will come out with the name tag "GPX".

That'd give the GTR250 a run for it's money if it's for real. Looks like a Ninja should look. I'd have one in black any day

looks a lot like the ER-6F

http://www.bikez.com/pictures/kawasaki/2006/23496_0_1_2_er-6f_Image%20credits%20-%20Kawasaki.jpg

Could just be an ER-6F with a different pipe on it, but having a big one out the side defeats the purpose of Kawasaki putting it under the engine to 'centralise the mass'.

Would be a cool looking 250, the market needs something like that - it's been too long since the 'big four' really gave a shit about the 250 market.

kinda similar.. but still too skinny... + er-6f still has that frame section between the tank and the fairing. as i said before the gpx tank and fairing meet flush, the fairing even screws into the tank.

nah, this is either an unseen model or a chop of a zx6 seat, and front headlight and fairing, etc with a single aftermarket exhaust into a gpx which would also be quite cool but i wouldnt bother to do this myself tho id just wait and get a real zx6

after studying the photo and looking on the net for the 08 models i am begining to wonder if this really is a 250 i couldnt find any 250 ninja that looks like that. my guess is its not a 250 im sure its the 600. take a good look at the exaust it apears to be blurd out and notice how the photo is to far away to read the decals?? if one was to take a photo of a bike wouldnt you take a good close up photo atleast close enough to prove it is a 250??

Looking closely at it theres the 2 header pipes which look suspiciously like the pipes on the ER6n. Maybe a new fairing for the ER6f. Would rather see a new 250 though, especially a Versys stylled twin.

I'm almost certain it's related to the GPX (EX250F) because of how the fuel tank meets the fairing without a diagonal frame separating in the middle

I had a chat to my local bike shop about it and the new 08 GT250R which is fuel injected but they knew nothing about either at the time.

Could be different now that its all officially up on the site etc.

I'm going to ask around another couple Kawasaki dealers here and see if they know anything more.

I think we'll be looking around the $7000 mark for NZ if it does get here? Going off the pricing of the previous GPX250.

I'd say your abit off ;) They've already released their 600s for 08. Anywho, the website confirms all now.

They won't be hitting the nz market? I guess that might mean we get all the old ones with the shitty suspension offloaded onto the nz market then?

We get the same old GPX 250 as US and Aussy so you would have to think we will get this model as well.

Will probably depend on where it is made. Thailand or Japan or Somewhere else in Asia.

If it ends up being $7000 I would be surprised and gutted ($6000 on old model). Would think it will be mostly in the $8000-8500 region based on the Hyosungs and costs of upgrades to the bike. Would come down after a few years production maybe. Of course our dollar will make a difference as well.

Upgrades look to have focused on the old models weak points - soft suspension and poor low end power so well done to Kawasaki on that one (not that I actually have a problem with either of the two common negatives discussed about the bike). Our market will just eat them up if they do make it out here and are within a few hundred of the hyosungs.
