What Dan said...
Heading from west on the north western, get off at western springs... left at lights... left at 2nd lights then first rd on the left & just follow it around.
Motohaus is on the right hand side (just past the little st on the right that goes thru to new north rd) :done:

Motohaus isn't very west. I haven't tried them for a WOF but there's Henderson Motorcycles in henderson. Wild West Honda in New Lynn.
The last WOF I got done at the car place that my parent's use, Whibus Motors in New Lynn, the guy there does bike wof's and rides a bike.

Tranzit NZ testting station on Rosebank Road (at the top of the Patiki onramp).
There's an old guy there that used to ride bikes - likes them and talks till the coews comes home. He's a fair guy, won;t let you get away with too much but helps more than many and he has nothing to gain by pointing out faults (unlike some bike shops keen to sell you new brake pads, tires etc)

Wild West Honda, great bike shop, just started doing WOFs on Gt Nrth Rd nr Lynn Mall.
If you want it done properly go there. Sam'll do it and you can tell him if you like that Simon with the GSX600 recommended you come.
If you want cheap the cheapest is Portage Rd about 200m down from the roundabout New Lynn end. There is a large drive in there which is one of the few car WOF places that does the WOF for bikes - I think some of the other places suggested no longer test bikes (at least last year when I asked them).
Cost is low and they seem to be OK but I will be going to WWH instead come October.
Remember the new rules on braided lines is causing some confusion out there - esp. in cage land - so if you have braided lines consider goign to a bike garage.

Actually for Massey try giving Henderson Cycles a call - they are just off Railside Av (I think) nr. the shopping Mall.
They serviced my old bike and were excellent. Well recommned on here too.

thanks everyone for all the suggestions
it seems there's plenty of decent places to go
i think for the convenience i'll stay local and probably go to a "bike-only" shop
so, "henderson motorcycles" sounds good
now, some dry weather would help...

Hi, I am the parts guy at Wild West Honda, cheers for your comments 90's.
Our mechanic, Sam Richards, is very professional and thorough, and I would trust him to make sure yours or any other bike is safe and fit for the road (but I would say that). He has worked overseas and has many years of experience on different brands for a young chap, so come and see us to form your own opinion.
If you want the added danger of a cheap (ours are the standard $30) or easy pass warrant but not neccessarily safe, then elsewhere might be a good idea, not that we condone those sort of warrants?
Henderson motorcycles on View Rd would be closer for a Massey biker. I know Adam and the guys there too, as I used to visit them as a rep and i would also be very happy to send you there for a good job.
I know if I was a road rider needing WOF's and less of a MX hoon, I would want a fellow bike rider/qualified mechanic to check over my steed, rather than car warrant places where many of them do not even know how to ride, don't own a bike, let alone know the important safety parts of a motorbike...
enough of my speal...
cheers from Craig.

That's where I go for WOFs, they have this little painted bike lane and they don't really check much but the lights. So if you're wanting to get a WOF that doesn't really check anything cool, if you're doing it to check if your bike is all good take it to a bike shop.

Hi friends.
Thanks to this 5-year-old thread, I found a good place to pass WOF not far from home. So, now I can recommend Whibus Motors too. 1, Stock St (entrance from Drury St), New Lynn, tel 827 1624. It costs only $25 there at the moment.

AJ from Motohaus is nowadays behind Motomail on College Hill Ponsonby/City - he's a great guy & i have found him to be very fair minded with wofs.
