oooo i gotta have, i wouldnt have thought one in rough condition...well origional....would be worth so much, and why does he say it would be a shame to restore it, would be better than how it is it's wwell past well maintained origional, i understand this is what burt munroe had but geez bit of a price tag innit?

Certain models are gems.... That model is highly regarded by Indian enthusiasts but yes - it's a lot of cash... And it would be a shame to ruin it by restoring it... Its beautiful (and more valuable) just as it is...

The guy I bought my SR 250 off had one of them. He was in his mid 80s and well under 5' tall. He used the SR to take his regular licence tests and trailered the Indian to Wanaka where he used to ride it around.

Dont really appeal to me, maybe Im showing my age (or lack of it)

Nah - stock, they are painfully slow and have weird harold controls nothing like a normal bike... Horrible things but of course - valuable and they do have a certain charm - I'd have one for shits and giggles...

Lots got the controls converted to normal twist grip (on the rh bar) and upgraded to 600cc but if you ever get a chance, get a ride on a vintage bike, no twist grip, manual spark, oil pump and hand change (if any)... HUGE fun and never a dull moment...


I guy I knew used one as his MX bike (Compy AJS) transport and ride to work hack. He got a job at a place located on a hill and he found that by the time you put a foot on the brake and a fot on the clutch you had no feet to put on the ground so he loaded up the AJS, headed to the tip and rode the AJS home.... Ah! Those were the days!
