299kph accpeted due to dodgy limited speedos nowa days. Of course anyone admitting to this on this forum did the deed on a sealed race track aye...................:devil2:

I saw 190mph (not sure but I think that's 300kph-ish) on the speedo of my last car - French motorway from Caen to Le Mans....
Never on a bike though, and probably never likely to whilst in NZ....

Sorry no can do - he was an aprrentice who used my bike as a pet project for tuning 2-stokes.
He made the power valves especially lethal making 2/3's grunt kick in over 2000 rpm (10,700 - 12,700).
Last i heard from him was he was in the US working in the winter for Bombardier as a race mechanic, and in the summer for a Yamaha Tuning shop.
Bayride (back then it was Suzuki) ended up borrowing it for a weeks as it was faster than their race bike.
Stuff that i do know that works are:
-Iridium plug (worth ever $ of the $25 i paid for it on that single banger)
-Motul 8000? (sorry cant remember number) fully synthetic
-Air ram to airbox
-80% avgas 20% 98 mix, with a pinch of nail polish remover.
Sadly the bike blew to smitherines after 24,000k's of abuse. Oil pump failed, which turned the big end into a fine powder, which locked the rings which waped the ports, which crachked the piston which blew the thread out of the plug. All while i was getting airbourne at 150kph over the hills on 'Ol Tauranga rd'
I miss that bike

299 on the speedo seen down the back straight of Pukekohe. And it was genuinely at Puke. I'd never consider breaking the legal limit on public roads. It's dangerous. A child might run out in front of you...

Speedo was reading 299 for the whole 1/4 mile, but was actually doing 276.
Bike had been geared down though, so thats no surprise.
Still cool to see your speedo reading 299 for a good 5seconds...

299 on the dash all the way from the kink to the hairpin. Probably somewhere around 270-280 actual.

Does being on the back of Micro's bike count at a track day?
Not sure what speeds he was doing but I got off limping! Thought being a pillion on his bike I was going to get my knee down...
I have no idea what speeds he was doing down the back straight. But, it was fast, and impressive.

Not sure if I did 300 on the ten... after 240 your gear is getting ripped off by the wind and you dont dare look at the speedo as you wind it on more...
My little Honda gets about 220.

The rain was over-represented in that video...it was spitting and while I was waiting for the run a bit landed on the screen, the acceleration makes it look like it was pissing down.

I owned a Hayabusa for over a year and I'd be lying if I said that I hadn't seen 300 more than once. It is also something that you will only keep up for a very finite amount of time. Partly the reason I sold.

Yep....used to do it often but have seen the lights!
Blue and red from memory :Police:
Have seen 299 often on the speedo of my '06 ZX10 and a dozen odd time on my '07 ZX10....bugger knows what actual speed they really were but they certainly keep on winding after 299 clicks up.
286 on my '07 has been verified :Police::doh:
BTW...'07 ZX10 for sale....one careful lady owner
