I'll go and have a look at it for you if you like.
You'll need to arrange a time with the seller and pm me his address. I'm off out with my wife tomorrow morning and early afternoon so let me know when suits the seller.
Cheers

seriously looks like my old RS. was pretty straight, except for some surface blemishing where the battery boiled over and ran over the front lh corner of the swingarm. i sold it to an english guy who reckoned he had one in the uk but didn't have a nz licence.
i cut the 'replica' stickers off from under the RS250 stickers on the rear cowl and next to the headlight.
bike was strong and fast, a fantastic first bike!

Could be it mate, I test rode that bike back in April when he had it for sale. Shortly after had my accident and could not buy it, otherwise it would have been in my garage.
He's not an English guy (he's Kiwi) but has the accent hard lol..he went for his OE and spent a few years there and he told me he rode a RS 250 there as well.
Besides that the bike is in good nic and runs really well, well it did 5 months ago. But he doesn't ride it and 0oh the tyres are one size bigger, just the rear one I think he's got 160 in there instead of 150.
I am pretty sure he's after 8 grand for it aye. Good luck either way. If all else fails ask him to take it to Mt Eden Motorcycles and get them to do a appraisal, he lives just 2 minutes from there !

since its a fair bit of $$ involved, you'll want to go for BikeTranz or Cyclemovers over Mainfreight i suspect... BikeTranz moved a GSXR from chch to Auckland for me, took 3 or 4 days and cost just over $400.... if i'd had a long weekend i would've flown down and ridden up for $50 less and the experience of it

Dave
There is one in Te Awamutu
2001 (mistakenly advertised as a 2004) with half the KMs of the Auckland one for $8K + ORC, I could only negotiate him down to $7800 including on road costs but not a bad deal cosidering its lower milage. Closer to you than Auckland. Only reason I have given up on the Te Awamutu one is that he cant register it till next week and I want my bike this weekend! Its on Trademe so check it out.
Cheers,
Lance

Nope, I havnt seen either. I was just talking to a friend who is trying to talk me into the lower KM one in Te Awamutu. I might go check them both out tomorrow (ROAD TRIP!) Just gotta way up the lower KM one, a few more $$$ and VIN and REG it myself or save a few bucks and some hassle but have a more tired higher milage bike... Arghhh the dilema! I spoke with a couple of bike dealers today who believe the Aprilia RS250 is awesome, amazing package that will make riding Japanese 250s (2 or 4 stroke) feel pretty sad.

we could play a game.
if you do check them both out, make a post on both of their conditions, but flip your opinion, and we'll see in 3 weeks if i guessed the right bike!
