Just came across this and just couldn't resist...
Newbies: This is the reason starting on a 250 or under is a good idea
Other Bikers: For those people who think: yeah, I'll teach this person on my GSX-R Thou or Honda Fireblade or whatever... not the way to go :killingme

Twas a fuckd up stunter BEFORE the dude dropped it. A bit of radweld and it will run the same as it did before.
It is funny to note how we take many of the niceties of bike control for granted now - the sensitivity of the throttle for example - we rhink it's not sensitive at all and yet someone who has never used a bike thinks it's set on a hair. The definition of 'let it out slowly' fro the clutch is very different depending on whether you've used a bike or not.
I remember teaching dman some basics on an RG150 in a car park and he nearly popped a wheelie. He got about 20 metres before he had the presence of mind to pull in the clutch.

A guy in the states ended up killing his wife trying to teach her to ride on a GSXR1000. They were in a shopping centre car park at night and i believe a similar thing happened, except that she followed the bike at about 70kmh or more into glass store front.

Sounds like New Yorkers.
First friggin cruiser I owned I accidently popped a wheelie in town at a stop light. Freaked me out heaps.. although in retrospect, now that I am not a bike newb, I wish I could pop wheelies on cruisers when I want to now :D
