View Full Version : Smod Term of Office

SpankMe

I have decided in initiate a term of office of 12-18 months for Senior Moderators. To this end I have asked Joni and Hitcher to step down from all SMod duties. They have been in the role for about 2 years and have done a great job. At the end of their term SMods can become normal Mods if they wish, but under the direction of the new SMods.

For those that do not know, SMods run the site setting and enforcing the rules for members, setting forum structure and allowed content. They also do the hiring/firing of Mods and setting their rules/guidelines.

I would like to welcome Kickaha to the SMod team.

Goodbye Joni & Hitcher. :crybaby: As a newbie I've enjoyed your posts and only just understand your SM work. Thanks again. Cheers.

Hitcher isn't going anywhere. He is looking forward greatly to continuing to post his usual selection of crap and drivel - particularly the occasional beer thread!

SpankMe's decision is inspired and probably long overdue!

One of the perks of being a Senior Moderator is immunity from infraction. I guess I had better be on my very best behaviour from henceforth!

It has been a special privilege to have served as a Senior Moderator. I may not have always got things "right", but I have always endeavoured to do my best for this site and its members. As I was reminded again today whilst basking in the sun at The Fush, you're a tremendously great bunch of folk!

Ride safely and respect each other.

Hey, well done guys -- especially through the somewhat turbulent recent KB political scene ;)

Interesting idea, Spank. Will reduce the cries of `dictatorship! Fascism!' from the plebeians, especially as, like you say, the Smods do the hiring and firing.

Your colour's looking a bit paler though. It must have been a rough trip :)

Change is part of life and part of KB (no matter what some people think)... Im happy with my new role as site facilitator and the support I am giving users, mods and KB in general... :niceone:

I reckon the secret is to stay proud and happy about the past and look forward to even more positive things... I think you can gather neither hitcher or I will be unhappy or bitter as some people have been about change - we look forward to helping KB grow even bigger and stronger than it is now.

Thanks for the good work you have done. As an ordinary member it was always difficult to tell what that was nor could we tell which mods were the ones unnecessarily moving threads to PD.

I know Hitcher quite well but have still never met you Joni but from what I saw of your posts both of you seem reasonably sensible people, hence if you had anything to do with any of the over-moderating I have ever commented on I could never understand if it was either of you anyway.

Welcome to Kickaha as SMod. I hope your moderation is as moderate as you are an old seasoned biker. I look forward to the site moving on and rediscovering its fun and friendly community spirit, a spirit I am sure most of the Welly and 'rapa crew will tell you is alive and well in our area no matter how ridiculous anything ever got on line from other areas, countered by high-handed moderation.

I'll drink to that.

Not me mate I'm not famous enough and can never commit that much time - same goes for my riding I don't get out there often enough, but hey at least our bikes last forever with no big kms going on them.

Mind you you'd be a contender wouldn't you in between hugs and jobs?

You aren't going anywhere because of your stuffed Emu??....
...or you were at the Fush because you swapped the Emu for a Hampster and are back on the road??....Ready for some serious Pre-GC riding?

I was at the Fush courtesy of the most splendid Mrs H, who allowed me the pleasure of trolleying her around the countryside on her simply splendid very red GSF650 Bandit. What a fabulous motorcycle (and Mrs H ain't half bad either!).

The The FJR's EMU is sulking. Iridium plugs and a DNA air filter get fitted tomorrow, along with a sensors' check. If all goes swimmingly, then that long pre-GC noctural excursion may be a starter for this Friday!

An interesting development. In principle a sound idea, akin to the USA restriction on the number of terms a President may hold, and presumably for much the same reasons.

It may be positive or negative. The departure of Mr Hitcher from Olympus must be a matter of some concern , his influence will be missed.

Presumable we may expect a resurgance of the BDOFTNZA (or whatever they are called). They still do not give green stamps , but.

I will wait and see. Mr Finn shall be my bell wether.

At the least it demonstrates that there is hope yet. That is good, I am always hopeful. It inspires me for my other lost causes. Like the Jacobite succession. I must contact King Francis .

Stranger things have happened. What comes around is generally what goes around. And around.

Hey mortal... (haha, just watched one of the old Highlander movies)... you and Joni have definitely helped keep the site usable and fairly friendly (as much as a mod can do)... Hopefully the rest of the Senior mods (including Kickha) can continue to keep the site as 'tidy' as you and Joni have done in the past :)

The The FJR's EMU is sulking.
Is there supposed to be a full stop after the first "the"?
Possibly an indication that the stress level is lowering?
