I'm new to the forum, but thought I would share my weekend's test ride experiences with you guys..
I currently ride a '98 cbr600f and decided it was time to test some newer and faster sports bikes, so yesterday I rode the gixxer 600, 750 & 1000, 636 ninja, 675 daytona and an r1
In breif, i was most dissapointed with the gixxer 6, very peaky power and felt a bit too shakey.
The 636 and daytona both sit you right over the front wheel and as soon as you get going you feel confident to pitch them over in the twisties. Also worth noting, the 636 was the only bike i monoed twice.... twist open and hold on! What i hated about both these bikes though, was being so far forward, you couldn't see the instruments! Annoying. I suspect one of these bikes would be the fastest around the track if i tried them all properly....
The gixxer 750, probably the most rounded and best bike I've ever riden. Plenty of torque to get you to the power smoothly and very confident to throw into a corner. Excellent bike.
The litre's - brutal, brutal and brutal I can not explain the instant power these things have! So addictive! The gixxer had a lot of vibration through the bars, so didn't fall in love with it but the r1 is the bike I didn't want to give back!
Just a breif summary, but awesome to actually ride all the different bikes - now time to choose!
