What side of the bed

A friend of mine and I were having a random conversation about what side of the bed we prefer to sleep on when sleeping alone.

I have come to the conclusion that most people (when alone) sleep closest to the door. So I just want to see if I can prove this theory right.

Hadn't really thought about it before - but yes I sleep on the left of the bed nearest to the door - even in motels etc... :wacko:

EDIT: An ex used to sleep on the right side though(?) even when on his own, - at least that is where he was when I got home from nightshift ... :whistle:

I myself like to be nearer to the open side of the bed (which is mostly near the door) mainly coz i hate having to crawl around to get off the bed if i go to pee at night.

and when i'm with someone, definately near the door, i don't like to disturb the other by climbing over them...

I believe a lot of celebrities have their own bedrooms and beds, which would be nice in some ways but I like my man in the bed.

At home its closest to the door... at the moment, If I go away, then goto the right hand side... :) and other houses it's has been the right hand side away from the door... maybe I'm just weird... well I know I weird... :laugh: :bleh:

Nothing sinister, just the when alone the other side of the bed (nearest the doors) still has my riding bag(s) on it. Not to mention any washing I have not folded.

When sharing prefer the side nearest the door. If neither is nearer then the right.

I sleep on the side of the bed not occupied by Mrs H. This is invariably the left-hand side, irrespective of the location of doors or other fittings and fixtures. This is a very privileged state of affairs, I have been told.

I tried the middle and the whole bed starfish position but ended up, as usual, on the very left edge of a Super King bed away from the door.

Interesting poll and thread ... I have a simple choice when the Grub is not home ... I get the middle .. the cats have a habit of being one on each side .. and don't like sleeping together ... mind you I still climb out of the left hand side ... which when the Grub also occupies the bed is the side I sleep in ..right next to the door to the ensuite :)

I sleep upon the left-hand side of the bed. So it is, so it always has been, and so it always will be.

Currently that happens to be closest to my bedroom door, so Stickchick gets some dubiously-correlated data for her poll.

While we're on the subject, I should note that I have recently decided that any person attempting to shift me from my right and proper place on the One True Side of the Bed will be summarily evicted therefrom. Abandoning the side of the bed that one's mind is programmed to sleep upon leads to nothing but unease, restless nights and diverse other inspirations for blues lyrics.
