Just drove past just after the incident occured. Bike headlight was still going so it only just happened. Was a Blue/White GSXR600/750 could of been a SRAD or a K1/K2 model. Had an irridium screen. Hope they are ok...

Stink Karma! Hope they've got you on some decent pain relief :doctor:

Not sure why but I took a look at the NW motorway while stopped on the Newton Rd bridge and got a bad feeling about it. Heaps of cars piled up from the sunstrike. I've learnt to take heed of those gut feelings so took an alternative route home today.

Was gonna post earlier but got sidetracked. I see Karma has been bitten. Anyway, was just gonna post about the crash, cos was listening to it on the work radio.. was a bit of a nothing (sorry Karma, no disrespect bro).
But what WAS FUCKIN FUNNY, was the concrete truck that rolled on the Albany hill not long after and spilled 2 cubic metres of concrete on the road.
The contractors were scooping it all up.... quite quickly.. as the job got harder and harder.. lol...

now that wuldve been brilliant:P

Yeh, really wasn't much at all.

Car in front had someone cut them up, they stopped, my bike stopped, but my body didn't.

I did a superman and landed (apparently knee first) in the back of someones boot.

Bike is fixable, and thankfully I was wearing leather jacket, gloves, boots, and a back protector. The gear works :wari:

Saw your bike leaning on the barrier, thought the HP had pulled you over! Glad you're okay! Now you just need to do it again for the camera...

Had the exact same crash a few years back.

Fucked my knees too.

Glad to hear nothing major got borked. :)

Bad luck big fella. Glad you're okay - I read Qkchk's description and the word 'iridium' made me think of you before I read your post.

Would hate to see the mess you made of the car you landed on though.

Just add my bit in here too Karma, binning sux. Feel for ya.

It's funny that a lot of people are saying the right thing about you being OK and the bike can be fixed etc etc . But really, the aches and pains are minor compared to the trauma of busting your beloved bike don't you think?

Yeh, it didn't look that good by the time I'd bounced off it...

Pretty sure it was one of those... so imagine a 6'5" 135kg bloke hitting that at 40kph and you'll get a reasonable idea :doctor:

Hmm... well you'd be surprised just how many times a day you need to bend your knee... the bike should be sweet in a couple of weeks.

Oh bugger dude! :shit: Thought the bike looked familiar but didnt want to say too much until we knew more........

I drove past heading North and saw you and the Gixxer on the tarmac. Thought something must of happened like someone had hit the anchors and you couldnt stop in time.... at least you didnt get run over! Must of been a close one because there was a car stopped in front and behind you. Had bad is your knee? Knackered or brusied/scraped? Goes to show what decent gear can do for you if that was all you got..

Hope you and the Gixxer heal soon.

Bugger to hear of the off Karma, glad you are essentially ok.
So what is the damage to the bike then?
Anything you need help with?

The knee has really cleared up overnight, able to put a little weight on it now, hobbling around with crutches so that's easier.

Bike is apparently more rooted than I thought, forks are stuffed, left, right and front fairing damage, mud guard, engine cover bit on the left, left mirror, peg, handlebar, clutch lever, the left disc is rooted as well apparently.

Didn't think I'd done that much damage, but it's all covered by insurance so i'll just claim on that... Don't want to go into too much detail, but the driver in front isn't admitting fault, so I've gotta write up what happened etc...

Just thinking now about how the world has suffered another horrible incident on 9/11 ;)

Bugger me, heal up mate.

Sounds like the bike could possibly be written off, good you have insurance.

Did it make a big noise when you hit the car?

Not 100% sure on the bike yet, time will tell on that.

In regards to me hitting the car... I was too busy thinking BOLLOCKS! to worry about how it sounded ;)

To get is written off, my I suggest Red Baron, just got one written off few months ago. But my bike taken anywhere would have been anyway. Their labour costs are higher ect ect so yeah...you know the rest.
