the road linking pekapeka and waikanae beach is now open.there not much in Pekapeka but waikanae beach has a cafe and Marty's place, a cafe restaurant & bar,never been but i am told Marty's has nice pizza.

... don't order any mushrooms on those pizza's, especially if they come from peka-peka.

& have done for over 20 years that I'm aware.
funny story..
2 guys approached by police while leaving the pines were forced to swallow the evidence prior to answering a barrage of questions relating to their motives for being in said area.
