Been in photoshop again, now that i have the new tail
and hey i think orange would be unique but tempted to have it with a black tail...will just be spraycanned until i can afford to do it all pretty ...
i don't know i would kind of prefer black tail, but hey maybe i'm not seeing how silly it looks or somthing...
verdict?

It does look good in all orange mark, but you still have not job, im sure there are better things to spend your money on. I wouldnt really worry about spending money on the bike to make it look better in the meantime, maybe when it comes time to sell if it is going to be of benefit (i.e $400-500 paint job raises value by more than $500) otherwise just ride the damn thing and save your pennies for when you can legally ride a bigger bike.

IMHO do it all orange. The black looks out of place. I would paint the wheels black though. Something like the one below.:headbang:

You could just save time and paint it "road rash"
Just saying is all......

it would be a cheap spraycan job for now....

Can you do the whole thing in orange, and then photoshop some orange rim tape and black wheels ? Just asking because thinking of doing my race bike that colour and I can't photoshop my way out of a paperbag, but interested in what it will look like.
Edit - Never mind

i think i'm just going to keep the round ones aye...
getting led indicators tommorrow and putting them underneath with the plate..get rid of all the rear spade
i'm in the middle of photoshopping black wheels and orange rimtape...which boostin suggested will put up plain orange with black wheels with orange tape for him...then i will do the one i just put up with wheels the same....

I was thinking that. I don't have access to photoshop and paint would take to long and I can't be arsed so all I can do is suggest jagged lines, flames, number plates, fade, etc. would be good to mould the orange with the black, rather than having it look like the tail has been replaced with one off a black bike.
Here's some photos for inspiration. Really want to get some silver sticker paper and try making the last pictures graphics

I would say paint to orange!
But thats what i want to do.
Cant have every man and his dog running round with an orange ZXR.
But seriously...the orange does look the best. Not everybody's cup of tea, but then again neither is kawasaki green and alot of people like that colour.

Ok first up a picture for boostin...plain orange with black wheels and orange rim tape...
Second my earlier black and orange scheme with black wheels with orange rim tape....
Third and finally, i changed where the black on the tank goes to follow the tanks curves and then carried it down to the headlight fairing...with black wheels and orange rim tape....
hmmm pic 2 or 3...i'm liking 3 currently lol

tHE 3RD ONE IS NICE, 2ND IS LIKE JOHNS OLD ZXR250 SCHEME SO DON'T STEAL THAT ONE.
PLAIN ORANGE AIN'T BAD BUT MAKE SURE YOU CAN GET THE RIGHT RIM TAPE FOR THE WHEEL DIAMETER, ZXRS HAVE FUNKY WHEEL DIAMETERS.

yeah i surpose but, it just seems to be the recent trend in bike these days. The thing that really annoys me about modern sports bikes is that they have black frames, swing arms etc but leave the rear sets alloy. It looks stupid on a fully black bike to have shiney alloy on it. They should make it black from the factory!

I started out reading this thinking 'fuck what a load of hassle for a ZXR'. I guess I can say that cause I love the way mine looks already :p
The thing is I've changed my mind after seeing skiddy get all gooey over it.
a) if it's the only bike you can afford you might as well for go for broke (pity about the spray can job tho..)
and
b) if your biked looked like that I bet you'd think twice about dropping it every time you rode it and it might chill you down a tad skidMark.
So yeah hurry your arse up and get it done already.
and get some ZX-2R stickers like that orange one at Red Baron has. Apparently they were branded ZX-2R in either Japan or the US. Can't remember now but either was it's classssssssssssssy.

You should adjust the orange on the front fairing to roughly the angle I've got the red line at in this photo. At the moment it's pointing in an awkward direction and doesn't go with the rest of the lines on the bike.
Otherwise it's looking mint, that's some excellent designing there

I was looking at my all black VFR and seeing the nicely polished rear sets and I thought it would be a good idea to paint them black to suit, only they're so perfectly plished I don't want to ruin them and I could see my boots rubbing the paint off and it'll look shitty quickly.
I am going to paint the exhaust system and fork lowers black when I get a chance. Then I'll have to paint the rear sets cause they'll be the only thing left in another colour :p

I like what you have done with pics 2 and 3. It makes the bike really stand out, and the curves make it look more of a classy job.
I don't like the black frame, it interfers with the scheme too much. The plain Ali frame disappears and is not noticed with the colors and lines you have here.
Straight line masking on a scheme like this makes it look like a cheap sunday afternoon job.
If you do a the prep right, a spray can job can turn out pretty damm good. When I raced my fat ass VFR750FL, I was forever rubbing holes on the belly fairings. Monday would be bog day, and then sanding and spray filler. I would then top coat with a satin black. (I think Honda stole my paint scheme for the later model VFR's)
It came out looking awesome. you just need a clean dust and draft free place to do your paint work.
I say give it a go, with a do it your self job, if it's not quite right, you can always change it next weekend.:done:
Anyway, bling sent for some pretty good photoshop skills.

go either all black
or all orange.
prolly all black if you spraying it yourself w. cheap paint cause if you go black with those home-job blotches and streaks it'll look like mad-max and mean where blotchy-home-job orange could make you look like a mad-patchey piece of flying bubble wrap.
