Hi.I,ve just ordered a set of Jardine forward controls for my Intruder. Can any of you guys tell me if there is a handeling issue with your feet placed further forward, particuarly at slower speeds ie in stop start traffic etc. These controls put my feet about 8 inches forward from stock so i,m wondering if balance will be affected.

It's just a slight change of riding 'attitude', and I don't mean yours. Your body is placed slightly differently and you'll probably find you'll develop the 'Harley shuffle' after a while. That is to say, when you pull away from the lights you'll feel the need to shuffle your bum a bit after taking off to 'assume the position' but once rolling I bet you'll love the riding position and overall 'attitude' of your body's placement. You have a cruiser already (a buddy of mine rode an Intruder for years and loved it) so the head-down/bum-up thing obviously isn't for you; both our bikes have f/c's and now we wouldn't have it any other way, especially for long hauls, which is where cruisers shine.
Put them on, give them some k's and post your thoughts.
Enjoy, and ride safe.

I'm looking forward to getting rid of mine, I prefer the option of highway pegs to stretch out a bit, but prefer normal placed controls for riding.
And its not a mindset as suchfor me, I have traveled thousands of Km's on bikes with both configurations, Perfectly adept at using both.
The extra linkages also get up my nose as undesirable.
The only reason I haven't switched yet is the pipes fitted by the previous owner don't allow the fitting of the standard configuration...and I love my pipes.
Still, They got to go.

Thanks for the replys guys, will post once i have them fitted. The thing i like about the Jardines is that gear linkages etc unbolt from the stock footpeg bracket and bolt directly on to the forwards which means no extra linkages brake lines etc,i can also order a set of mini floorboards which fold up when not in use if i feel i need them.

You may get a sensation of falling ass first over with forward controls. Just me I think though.. don't think I'll ever completely get used to forward controls
