bling for the heads up. I had one of those, same colour even. I'd like another one too... they are undervalued compared to the other SOHC 4's IMO: better bikes too....

That is an incredibly handsome bike, I must say. Almost on a par with a 750 K0.
Decent bikes to own? How much?

Yes they were - nothing like todays performance or braking, but quite capable. I had a mint yellow one with new original exhaust up until about 5 years ago, should have kept it, - same old story, you'd think we'd learn! Traded it on a mint FJ1200, traded that on a demo R1150R, started feeling the cold on winter rides, hence the ST. They were quite a statement in their day, being the first (?) rear disc brake on a production model, plus factory 4:1.

Cool. I don't know why the F's are considered the black sheep of the SOHC's OK I can understand the F2 with its dodgy motor but not the F1's.

Hahaha yeah, `should have kept it', that's right up there with `didn't see you mate'.
Today, would they be a ludicrously expensive proposition -- not only to buy, but to run? I see they're going for $US2500-4000 or so. As somebody who has little interest in `today's performance and braking', I can completely see myself on one of these.
Falling in love again ;) Something about those headers, although CB400/4 has to be the ultimate visual impact.

Hey, nice model. That's a CB750F2, of uncertain mechanical aptitude (according to jonbuoy) though, isn't it?
The 80s really weren't very kind, aesthetically, to motorcycles. The CB750F1 looks so much more graceful.

Thats a DOHC F, the SOHC F2 four had the dodgy cylinder head easily identifiable as they were painted black.

Honda -- dodgy cylinder heads -- a lifetime legacy
Vintage literature seems to sell quite well. I was going to buy an RS brochure, the one with Takazumi Katayama zooming around a track in racing leathers on it. I was hoping to nab it for a couple of dollars, but it quickly went past $25 to my disappointment.

Yours is the DOHC, though, innit? No worries
I need a CB400 Four and an early SOHC CB750 in my gargre. Then I can die happy.
