Hey Welli this: http://www.silver-bullet.co.nz/event.php?id=5511 might be worth a look at.

It was today Sorry guys. Didnt read the date. Thanks A&R for putting that straight.

There's leighton farm scramble on this weekend see power adventures site. MX in sand?
Thought I might try kimmies or thunder x though as never been to either yet.

I heard its a bit wet out there still, so unless your real keen on wet clay you might want to stick to the sand for a bit longer.

Ye I was at Thunder X weekend B4 last. Bloody muddy and on the clay tracks you where paddling, legs each side, with the rear spining and the front pushing. No grip.
Kimis was open for one weekend ( i was there) but now is still cosed I think.

Thunder mat have dried but you'd have to be a better rider then me to really enjoy it.

The link I posted is The leighton farm event with the Rodney club.

I might do the practice day at Harrisville just for a run on their track. See how the weather goes.

Hey Welli this: http://www.silver-bullet.co.nz/event.php?id=5511 might be worth a look at.

When is that ride supposed to be? The date is obviously wrong as it says it was on today. If its on in the weekend I could be keen!

Mate, sure you didn't hit your head today? Because that event you listed is a trailride, not the MX at Leightons.

I just corrected/edited my post Danger but maybe your correct. Strange to have a ride on a Wednesday. Someone needs to email or call Rodney club and find out.

I might go to Harrisville Sat so Sunday will probably be out for me.

Reckless
12th September 2007, 23:28
ye danger heads all screwed. Worked till 1am yesterday, fell off today, time for bed me thinks.

Leightons is on Next Saturday DUH! but would they have a trail ride on a Wednesday or do you think its a mistake?

Danger
12th September 2007, 23:44
No they would not have a charity trailride on a Wednesday. I would go but many wouldn't. Just been on their website and they don't seem to have any trail rides on until next month so who knows what that one is all about?

As for the MX, well I need a bit more ride time than what that will provide.

The BUG! Yes! I have actually, but have been riding like a complete learner since the trailblazer I did. Thought I was upping my game quite well between Wednesday at Ardmore and the weekend rides, but the last few rides I've been shit.
Only watched at Harrisville last weekend as I got bloody lost and got there late, DUH!! I've been B4 aswell. I think the B class will be ok for me. Those jumps look fun. So am looking at this Sat if the bruises heal from my fall at Ardmore yesterday.

Collecting the FJR from TSS tomorrow and giving it snot to Martinborough to see if it has been "cured". If it has, then it may be forced to take me to Castlepoint or around the block, depending on the weather...

Most place are about the same,

child $15-$20
Family combo $45-$50

Danger

Not race fit either but heck MX race's these days are a bloody joke at only 10mins long and if you can't hack that you might as well take up lawn bowls!

Takes longer to clean the bike afterwards than you spend riding your bike.

Buddy L

I find that MX races and Enduros are just as tireing as each other.
If was was doing an enduro i would pace myself, so i would make it to the end. (almost pass out after doing one) then i know that i tryed my best.
And after 15-20 mins on a MX track, i come back sweating like a pig, arm pumped and nackered, and then i know that i was maxed out for entire race.

Well i'm buggered. I've got to take the kids rock climbing at extreme then attend a prize giving ceremony in the afternoon. Would have liked to have gone to leightons..... or Harrisville........ anywhere other than a prize giving ceremony. Might try and get out sunday afternoon but aslo tied up there until 12:00.

Had my first ever win in a race as well, in the 20-29 year old class:apint::jerry:
Not as much riding getting done for me as their was too many classes for the amount of riders.
Very Good to meet you Danger, out their as well (fast old bugger):msn-wink:

Congratulations on your win Buddy L! And nice to meet you too. Good to put some faces to a few of the names out there.

And good to see that Greg's races are a little longer than the last time I attended one of his meets. But I have to say, I sure get bored quick going around and around in circles these days. Perhaps if the fitness was a bit better I would be able to just concentrate on going fast the whole race rather than loosing interest after 4-5 laps.:apumpin:

I'd love to get bored on an MX track. Left shoulder dislocates just doing a crossup and right knee dislocates shutting the car door (got to remember to shut it without twisting) I've had all the ops available.... Still don't regret the racing days tho, I must be brainless, but riding is too much fun to stop.... Oh, and in the break of fifteen years, the body got worse not better....

Enjoy your riding to the full in what ever way you can get it...

Old fart...

Reckless, How did you get on at harrisville?

Harrisville-Ye great! Have to say the guys jumping all those jumps make it look easy but when you get out there it cetailnly ain't.
Its a damn pity their resource consent only allows them a 1-3 practice. So could have done with more time but if you join the club its only 10 bucks for members to go.
Will I go again? yes! as its reasonably close to home its on a Sat which still allows you to go on events on Sunday and the big jumps and big track is great fun. And I desperatly need to learn to jump properly.
Ardmore is smaller and easier but you have a much longer ride time. Harrisville is Harder, jumps are bigger, track is bigger but time is a problem.
I wish these damn councils and government would get their act together with the sport of MX.

Rant Over.
Ardmore again Wednesday I hope Weather and work permitting.

telliman
16th September 2007, 20:39
was that you pushing your bike up the big step up dude, i nearly jumped over you if it was!

Reckless
17th September 2007, 09:26
Ye that was me DUH. Are you in the B class run aswell??
Decided to take the step up, made the jump ok, Landed 1/2 way up, but I didn't change down in the air so was still in 3rd from the run up, quickly grabbed a couple of gears but the bike stalled on the slope. Never fell off but looked like a learner (again) slidin the front back down to the hollow and gettin it goin again up the 2nd 1/2 of the jump. Didn't think it was too bad, only one or two of the B where takin the step up anyway most where goin up beside it.
I've got the jumping sussed now, but I just need some bigger BALLS so I land where you guys are not a bit short on the up side. Fuck I used to be Reckless (named by others) in the old days, but bloody age has taken all the sting outa me. I get soooo shitted off with myself!! Especially when everyone else makes it look so damn easy. I'm just gonna ride and ride and ride some more! I'll either get it sussed or screw myself trying!

Confession/Rant over

ooohh that was bad for a Monday morning :spanking:
