View Full Version : HP sitting in garage - how much do you have?

Cajun
14th September 2007, 10:41
Currently have 5 bikes sitting in the garage, was interested to figure out how much hp is sitting there

These figures are all taken from the manfuactures, and so are @ the crank, knew it would be somewhere close to 700, but never expected to end up with the number given below

Hayabusa = 175
GSX-R 600 = 125
GSF600S = 78
RSV-R = 143
FJR1300 = 145

Total = 666

(that does not include the lawnmower, car, weed eater), this is just motorcycles.

Manic domestic cat=about 5, if he can smell food

Our gargre is tiny, so (if I don't include my stash of power tools) it's only 377 horsies, and they're small ones (probably Shitland Ponies).
But (however!) there's a whole nuther bunch of EyeTalianPastaPower sitting out on the curb, which must amount to.... ooh.. at least 88 horsies. Guinea pig flavoured ones, I reckon.

Boomer brings up a pertinent point. Of my 33hp total, 28 of those horsepower are gay horsepower. Possibly 2.5 of the cat's horsepower, as he does have both balls removed.

Has it got nitrous?
There's no way a stock 2000 CBR600 makes 110bhp.
I have dyno sheets for the two race bikes (600) mentioned in my post above, at the wheel my K2 makes 100.8, and Two Smoker's K5 makes 105.7

There's no way a stock 2000 CBR600 makes 110bhp.

You're right! It makes 118hp.

Big difference between dyno figures at the wheel and the engine dyno. There's huge losses in gearbox and dricetrain.

2000 Honda CBR600F-Y Ultima Light
Engine and transmission

Big difference between fact and fiction as well.

According to the same site, a 2003 CBR600RR, which I'm sure you'll agree is a more developed bike, makes 117bhp.

Model: Honda CBR 600 RR
Year: 2003
Category: Sport
Rating: 80.5 out of 100.
Displacement: 599.00 ccm (36.55 cubic inches)
Engine type: In-line four
Stroke: 4
Power: 117.00 HP (85.4 kW)) @ 13000 RPM
Or a 2003 CBR600F4i

Model: Honda CBR 600 F
Year: 2003
Displacement: 599.00 ccm (36.55 cubic inches)
Engine type: In-line four
Stroke: 4
Power: 110.00 HP (80.3 kW)) @ 12500 RPM

In the garage is the GN 250
Some people will tell you it's 20hp but mine feels like a couple might only have 3 legs so I'm rating it around 17hp.

Outside the garage is a 280hp GT Legacy (all it's horses seem pretty in pretty good order) and a Vtec Accord with about 130hp

About 5 in the weed whacker, 1/2 in the router and maybe another 5 or so all up in the drills, grinders (including the dremel).

In the driveway and on the street, um about 25 in the Mini 850, maybe 35 in the Clubman, perhaps 40 in the Commer van, 45 (apparently) in the currently stock Suzuki M50 and 240 in the Abba wagon.
