Sorry... But it's getting close to the time to organise this sort of stuff...

Vicki and I would be happy to provide our back yard as the venue for an Wellington KB xmas nosh up and BBQ.....

We just need a date.. Saturdays are good....

We would suggest a ride before hand? End up at our place on the Kapiti Coast 4pm or 5pm (ish) on a saturday, BBQ away, eat, drink and make fools of ourselves?

We can accomodate 4 extra if you need to get seriously fonged or the ride can be earlier and come out in groups in cars / vans / trains so you can really let your hair down ...

Likewise, if this is not suitable, we are happy to slot in other ideas???

What about the possibility of sticking a tent up in that old orchard next to your garden... or is that taking the pee..?

Well.. It's not very flat and I have not met the new owners yet... (mind you, it's a good chance to tell them it's a traditional right and they have to comply...) Not sure if thats too good an idea.

We can cope with 30 / 40 sweaty bikers (I think) as the side of the house opens up etc. Dunno what we would do if it rained though....

Alternately. We could do a day time run to a restaurant for a buffet? (OOOH! I Likes a niiiice buffet!)

Well Paul you have beaten me to it ..... I was going to offer my place for that too!! ... but there is no reason why we can't do 2 is there ?? .... I have a large Area out the back of my my place and I have 2 large tents as well. I thought that we could do a ride out this way down to say Masterton and back and Ihave access to a golf course that we could either play golf at or mini-putt if that takes too long !!
So I'll keep an eye this thread and see if I can't aim to have mine after yours ...you can't have too many BBQs in summer can ya ??

I'm keen as, anytime after the 1st Nov, oh and as long as it's not the 1st w/e of December.

The Handbrake - I'd have no problem with it to being kid friendly.

Either venue sounds good to me.

I'll discuss this with Mrs H but Saturdays suit us best due to her working hours.

We're happy to bring food. Is there such a thing as a "pot luck" barbeque?

PS: Just set a date. If we can, we can. If we can't, we can't.
PPS: We quite like kids. Deep fried, preferably...

Sounds good, set a date quick cause November & December is filling up quick. Don't forget the Coast to Coast run is normally on in early December and I expect to see you all there.
I'll try and find the date for that and I'll post about it.

I'm thinking more like 200, given that it costs 65-75 to get to Upper Hut from the airport now. It costs 40-45 bucks to my place in Lower Hutt for goodness sake.

I am sure something can be done, by way of organising a lift for the dodgy Pomgolian/JAFA cross fulla what rides crashed green motovelocipedes, closer to the time! :)

Folks...

This is a KB Xmas party. All KB'ers are welcome. If you have the moxy to come from further afield than Wellie then remeber we can provide limited accomodation for up to 4. Tony (Mr XJ) you have first dibs on a bed - it's 50km but if you are coming we can arrange rides, no sweat. For that matter the train is $6 off peak)

We have a large section with enough wilderness for kids to get lost in and we are 5 mins from the beach if they get bored and the weather is great. Borrow a kayak if you want (happy to lend them if you know what you are doing, no way if you don't - Don't want any drownings.

As time goes on, I will issue a 'general rules of engagement' notice but it will all be commonsense. ie, bring stuff to eat and drink, If you have an odd diet, bring stuff, look after your kids (it IS a wilderness OK and our dog is not that fussy about where she goes number 2's), wipe ya bloody feet, act (semi) responsibly and don't ruin anyone elses fun!!! :sly:

Gawd knows what we will do if it rains....

We will provide a collection of groovy music, shelter, paper plates, bbq, ice and all the other stuff... You will have fun (bring your dancing shoes)

You will enjoy it I promise....

Hey guys i'll be keen to go, be nice to meet all of you, or at least meet some motorcyclists!
I have my cage and i wont be drinking too much (not enough to fail a b/test anyway) so if that offer is of any help, its there.
If theres a ride over paekak, on the other hand, that would be AWESOME!
I'll prolly be one of the youngest motorcyclists there!

You know the NZ immigration law, "No two South Africans may congregate in any one area, at one time". We already broke that at the Rally, I think a second breech will send the authorities into a frenzy

Well bring 'em on.... We'll numb them with alchohol.... :buggerd:

Will be good to meet ya at last. (en niks van die taal praat nie hoor!)
:2thumbsup

OK so food is sorted, who is going to bring some music????? The man has a wide but narrow selection of music, we should actually get a sound system, and I also know of this real cool band . . . . . .
