I've been watching this on One. It's been on at the same time as the Soprano's so did not see much of the runup to the ending. But no that the Soprano's have ended and you are looking for a rip snorter...............

I've been trying not to. I'm like a moth to a flame though.... I've been a fan of Ludlum's Bourne novels since they came out, seen the Bourne trilogy and enjoy watching the occasional "spy thriller" type of DVD, TV series, etc.

It's OK, only just though I reckon. But it is just entertainment. It'd be great to see a series that reflected the reality of the intelligence services a bit more seriously. I guess the terrorists would start watching it too and we'd all be fucked as they'd know what's in the spies' bag of tricks. There was a BBC series last year IIRC that was about a dozen or so people who were selected to "train" to become an "intelligence officer" - to see if they could pluck someone off the street and turn them into a spy. It was quite watchable. As a lot of BBC stuff is.

Favourite show at the moment is not on air in NZ. It's the Channel 4 series called "Ghost Squad (http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/G/ghost_squad/index.html)". Got the DVD a few months ago, currently showing on the ABC in Aust. Sigh... NZ TV sucks most nights. Maybe you can get this on SKY UKTV??

Enjoy it Skyryder!

Spooks is a good watch, much better than the endless CSI clones out of the states.

Ultimate Force is better, but

Oh god yes ... CSI {yawn!}

Spooks has been a "sleeper". They originally played it at near midnight, but its way too good for that and the number of people who obviously stayed up for it made the ratings watchers take a bit of notice. The Brits know how to make good TV

It used to be better when Tom (Matt McFeyden I think) was the main dude. The new ones gay.

I like it, Ultimate Force is a bit heavy for my taste. And after "Extras", I can't take it seriously. "Super Army Soldiers" :)

Yes tend to agree with reservation. Tom was a bit vunable and not as ruthless as this new guy. The other two, the black guy and girl, don't recall their names were miscast. The new line up seem a bit more up to speed and matche the story lines.

Spooks is laughable. Unrealistic as fuck. Saw the first few, and laughed openly.

It's not in the same league as Callan but the new series has better story lines than the old one.

Agreed. Zoe Reynolds was it? In any case they didn't fit the role.
