Anyone else having problems getting on? I can get onto any website, and I can get onto Trillian to chat but not TM. I've cleared my cache and history and temp files and no luck. Even restarted computer. No luck!

Ok.. time for troubleshooting help. Using firefox here.
Wtf!? I got so much junk I need to get rid of since I've moved into the house, and with renovations I'm running out of space to store stuff I could get rid of!

Still cant get on. Turned off my computer and my modem and went out into town for 15 mins on the bike, then went to grocery store and got some grub and came back and started it all back up and nooooo good on TM still!

Try either of the following two URLs to rule out dodgy caching somewhere along the way.

Whatever.. my Mac, which was spec to spec with this PC was crap.. absolute rubbish! And it wasnt the user, I use both.
As I dont have that mac anymore because of how rubbish it is, I am waiting for Geek to come online and I'm gonna get her to see if she can log onto my account on her computer.

Something to do with their domain name not registering to the server address is my guess.

It's most likely a dodgy DNS server that you both happen to be using (are you with the same ISP?). By going directly to the IP address, you bypass the DNS server completely and voila. :)
In short, it's nothing to do with your computers. These things just happen sometimes and it'll probably be fine again by tomorrow.

I'm with Slingshot. I was downgraded today to dialup, by the buggers for the first time.. when I moved house 2 months ago, they changed my plan.. now I only get 2G p/month for the same price.. & apparantly I used it all up.. :crybaby: so I just thought it had something to do with that.. :stupid:

Gosh, I haven't had to deal with dialup for a good 8 or 9 years now. I feel for you... ;)
Anyway, this wouldn't be the first time there were problems with TradeMe and Slingshot.
On the 10th there were some major problems with Slingshot customers getting logged into TradeMe as other Slingshot users! It turned out they were playing around with their proxy servers at the time which was confusing the hell out of TradeMe.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were up to it again, seeing as it's late Sunday night and probably one of their quieter times.

Yeah.. quite often had problems with the pictures not being shown, or on a go slow!!
I pay $29.95 p/m for (now) 2G :bye: & get cheap tolls with SS.. do you know of any better deals with another provider???? :shifty:

Slingshot works great for me. Very fast speeds, just occassional hiccup and I'm paying less then Xtra dialup

I think somebodies still mucking around with Trademe or DNS as even using http://202.21.128.2/ runs piss poor slow for me now.
Managed to relist all my stuff that hadn't sold.. but no luck putting on more stuff. All freezed up after I tried uploading a photo of the first new auction
