Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Just downloaded the Beta demo for XBOX360. If you enjoyed the first three you'll love this. This game is sweet!

Graphics are unreal especially when your playing it on a HD TV and the frame rate is slick. Only gripe is playing an FPS with a hand controller sucks ass. Will have to invest in a keyboard and mouse adapter.

I've been a fan of CoD since the day the first was released. Definitely will be getting CoD4.

Not too much a fan of how Infinity Ward seems to be screwing us PC gamers over though. We were the fanbase that built CoD up into the the game it is today, yet now despite the fact that CoD3 was solely for console, we are going to have to put up with another game that has been dumbed-down from the pure awesomeosity that it could potentially be, just to keep the bloody console gamers happy. (Hell, you even pointed out yourself that the consoles are not the best platform for FPS games. IMO the PC will always win at FPS, until some sort of virtual reality technology comes out.)

Fuck, they even made the beta release console-only, despite the fact that PC gamers would be far more efficient at finding potential defects/glitches/bugs in the game, and generally represent a more mature portion of the fanbase, and as such would be more willing to actually report these.

Don't get me wrong, I'll still buy the game, simply because I enjoyed CoD, CoD:UO and CoD2 so much. I'm just not holding my breath for anything exceptional like the first two were.

my computer is too slow to play games on so i have to stick to my old xbox. i doubt CoD4 will come out on xbox tho

Enjoyed CoD and Cod2 haven't played third one yet, is it not available on PC,
don't think my PC will be up to the task of playing CoD4.

You misunderstand me.

I am well aware that it will be on PC, otherwise I would not be purchasing it at all (As I only own a SEGA, N64 and PS1 - the real gaming consoles ;)). My main gripe was that they will be "dumbing down" the game, so that console players will be able to play it without bitching that it is too hard.

I would much prefer a well-made PC game, than a shoddy game available on a variety of platforms. Console gamers had CoD3. PC gamers should have CoD4. Fair is fair is it not?

Been playing BF42, BFV and BF2 competitively pretty much since each was released. They are each excellent games (Let us ignore 2142... that sad, sad abortion of a game...), especially in the clan scene, where the strategic aspect really comes into play.

But for a bit of fun shooting each other up, and for really showing your reactions and aim, it isn't really possible to beat CoD2. :)

Not a big fan of the Battlefield series. I'm still thrashing Soldier of Fortune 2 online. Now that's a real game.

I liked Codename Eagle & BF1942 as lan games, and I've been pretty heavily trashing BF2142 online lately.. never really got into BF2 thou.

Lies! :-) I really enjoy it, and alot of the guys I play with are ex BF2'ers who prefer it over BF2.. I've heard that people tend to prefer either BF2 or 2142 rathern than like both thou.. Personally I never liked BF2 much :(
