:sunny:

At last the old girl is docked:love: and now I need to go and bring her down to palmie:2thumbsup:

Manakau reckon if I can get her from docks to them on Friday they will do reg etc without me present and I can pick her up Saturday morning:Punk:
I have a contact to transport her docks to Manakau but any suggestions on that front would be good.

I am working on a plan to get me to Auckland friday night probably take the Overlander as I hear the views are great. The first request is for a friendly and cheap place to stay within easy reach of manakau.

As staying Friday night it would be great to catch up with some KB friends in the evening too so any venue suggestions?

Saturday I plan to pick bike up from Manakau and ride back to Palmie, fingers crossed.

Never been to Auckland apart from both airports and the antarctic centre so an escort out of town and as far south as anybody fancies would be fun. I will be pouring over the maps for a route in the next few days.

I am pretty sure that some of the Ashurst/Manawatu team are planning to come north and meet me en route so the more the merrier. I need to decide when and where we can converge on a suitable coffee stop

First attempt at riding the Honda, navigating any further north than Hawkes Bay and starting a ride thread but multi tasking is what women do best :innocent:

Any help or advice gratefully accepted and look forward to meeting some northerners!!

Hmmm, yes, see that. I wonder if it will carry on? This could make for an interesting weekend. Last time it was amazing. I actually have some bottled ash from the eruption which I collected, incredible stuff! Hope it doesn't really blow and wipe out Turangi :shit:

Apart from the mountain, this ride should be good. Be looking at hopefully meeting up with some AK KBers on Sat after we've picked up the bike and having a little cruise southwards. Yet to be organised

We haven't made a firm decision about the route back yet but sure we can catch up enroute:yes:

Seems a shame to rush back when we could do some exploring as we work our way south. Hopefully we can get some of the auckland lot to join us for a ride saturday once we have the bike.

I have never been past Hawkes Bay before so really looking forward to exploring up north a bit more. Turangi sounds gorgeous so can't wait to see it.

If the mountain goes off that will be fun to see too:wari:

Keep jumping up and down like a kid when I think of it, vv excited :scooter:

MAFF inspecting bike today so if that goes well I may try and get her over to the VTNZ centre tomorrow rather than Friday, just incase they have any concerns.

Sarah and I will be picking up her Honda from Manakau VTC on Saturday mid morning. Looking forward to seeing it on it's first NZ ride! If there's any AK people heading south on Saturday it would be great to hook up with you and head on out of town enroute Palmerston. We're easy regarding times, meeting places, destinations etc. I'm reasonably familiar with AK so can probably find you without too many dramas :scooter:

i have the new rack arriving tomorrow - so we will be all ready to head up to the HB tomorrow evening and then over to taupo on saturday

i cant see it taking more than 2 hours to get to taupo so as long as you let us know when you're leaving hamilton, we should arrive about the same time

where are we meeting? how about the carpark in front of KFC/Subway/etc?? should be able to get a fiendish latte there  and they do a mean all-day brekkie...mmmmm....

thoughts?

86 and I are planning to leave here reasonably early tomorrow, 86 fitting bigger pack rac as I type:yes: Need it to carry all my girly stuff :innocent:

I will ring Manukau tomorrow and find out how they are getting on, Honda went over this afternoon and person I spoke to seemed quite chilled n positive  They will be starting it for WOF so hopefully I will know if there are any problems before we leave/get there.

Bass an AK KBer has kindly offered any techinical help saturday am if the Honda is feeling under the weather after her voyage :2thumbsup:

86 and I are a bit casual about the trip back, wondering if to take it over 2 days and enjoy the scenery and exploring :ride: Quite nice to be spontaneous and make it up as we go along:yes:

Not much use for you trying to meet up with us I know:grouphug:. Weather does look dodgy on Sunday though so maybe want to get most done saturday:lol:

How about we text you when we know more about the old girl and what time we are getting away from AK?

I know. It is killing me. This is the worst idea I have ever had taking annual leave while the kids are on holiday. Bike been sitting in the drive for a whole week.minter of a day. no can ride. Wont be out this weekend either so have fun going napier taupo. Next weekend I will be taking girl back up to taranaki so planning a ride for that but it is going to be a touring ride. Plan is still in the making.
