Somewhere I heard that Manchester St (the southern end you dirty bastards ) is due for a shake up... Street n Sport want the rest of the building they share with Pitlane, Sportzone is moving to the old Mitre 10 building on Moorehouse (seems unlikely?), someone else is taking on board Aprilia and Guzzi and moving into the old Sportzone hold, and Eric Woods is becoming exclusively Harley and Buell (no surprise there).
Anyone know anything? :psst:

So where's Pitlane going?

Now that was a question this person didn't have an answer to. I guess depending on their lease etc, nowhere or somewhere

.. Street n Sport want the rest of the building they share with Pitlane
They only have plans to modify their existing premises at the moment to give them more showroom space
There's also been a change of owners with Chris selling his share of the business to Phil Garrett

Eric woods is rebranding. They have dumped both Guzzi and Aprilia.
They are going to be known as Rolling Thunder. Don't know where they get these names from.
Operation Rolling Thunder was the title of a gradual and sustained aerial bombardment campaign conducted against North Vietnam during the Vietnam War. :bash:
Rolling Thunder was terminated as a strategic failure in late 1968 having achieved none of its objectives.[1] Nuff sed.

Not quite.
They lost them as they were mainly just pushing the HD line.
And not doing the Guzzi and Aprilia dealership any justice.
Hampton Motors are now the new Guzzi and Aprilia dealer.

Street n Sport just about lost the Triumph dealership.
Look in the yellow pagers as it is with Eric Wood.
And they just got it back.
Not sure about the rest of the rumours.

I guess this will be a good thing for Suzuki owners getting parking, mind you that complex has been horrible place to get in and out of in the past.

'Just Motorcycles'. That's where Mrs Oakie got her bike from. Pretty decently priced bikes too if you're looking to save a few $$$.

Didn't they used to be "Hornby Honda" way back in the dark old days before they progressed to the current company?
I remember the old chappy, he always fascinated me with his salesmanship style. :shifty:
He never lost sight of the objective, he was there to make a sale! I kinda liked him for that. John.

Yep that's them.
Not sure why the went away from Honda (and did have Fantic as well), but they did lose Yamaha and the Triumph dealership's because  all so had Gas Gas or Beta trials bikes for awhile
And gave up on the BMW dealership.
So then went to cars only, talk about picking winners.
And yes they are in it for the money and the old man never lose sight of that.
And use to only wanted the best tradein's at the right price and sold them for their right price.
Maybe now that the son is now running it, it may change for the better.
I use to go to school with him and he was a great rider and a quite and good guy.
I hope that not to much of his old man has rubbed off on him over the years.
But in saying that I'm not to sure if I'm happy about them having the Guzzi dealership.
And don't think it will last as I know how they use to do business and knowing how Guzzi owners think, there is going to be a clash.

They'll be quite misnamed once tougher zorst laws take effect.

Ha Ha
Good old Hampton. Branston Buildings right?
Always remember when I took my really nice CB650 in for a service and they managed to ding the tank. Arsehole argued about it until I told him I would put up a poster at Burnham Military Camp (BMC) about his shit service. Changed his tune then, what a prick.
They repaired and repainted, never was the same, shit job glazed over etc etc. Expert Paint guy told me it was a cheap and nasty job.
Moved onto Suzuki GS after that bad experience. fook 'im.

I bought my first push bike in Chch back in 1990 for 1100 bucks from Hornby Honda.
Went and seen Robin a week or so ago. And so far so good. Good service, and enjoyable chat. 20Kservice due next month... time will tell.
Nice to see the show room full of Guzz' and aprillia brand spanking and all....

20Kservice due next month... time will tell..
I know I know, not so flash to quote myself and all.
But this week I had to get me 20k service within the 24month warrenty period. (that runs out March 08) And given some may have reservations after dealings with thier previous bike dealership.
All went well, got given a courtesy car (sadly no bikes) They got the beausiness done, and done well, price was just as good, if not better than the old dealer, my last charge was at 68 bucks an hour plus bits. And here was at 60. But time wise less time charged than had been for my first two services, and in effect the 20k service involved a bit more than those previous two.
Jason the mechanic was great to deal with.
So all in all, Hampton Motor Company/European Motorcycles IMHO are sweet to deal with, and wouldn't hesitate to use again. They have a very full showroom now, I guess they will be hoping to sell a few...
