Been working on big iron. one of my other jobs.

Should have titled it better - Not a bike web site - tho Stef's a biker - it's some cool geekery.

More to do, 4 dimensions in 1 - within the constraints of html.

Just had a look for the hell of it ... I'm not sure whether the purpose of posting it here was to invite comments, but assuming you were:

- Too much flash. WAAAY too much flash.
- It should probably have a doctype header: probably XHTML transitional as there's some code in there that wouldn't pass the XHTML strict checks.
- In order to effectively use search engine listings, the site needs some more 'meta http-equiv' entries; keywords, description, author and content-expiry would be a start.
- Likewise, at the risk of losing that font, the homepage text should probably be text, rather than embedded flash. Search engines can parse text, but there are relatively few (Google can, Yahoo cannot) that can extract links and text from flash files. For instance, compare this site search from Google (http://www.google.com/search?rls=en&q=site:bigiron.co.nz&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8) and Yahoo (http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?ei=UTF-8&p=http%3A%2F%2Fbigiron.co.nz&bwm=p&bwmf=a&bwms=p&searchbwm=Explore+URL).
- Possibly not a great idea to embed the contact form destination email address within the code. As you're using a form2mail script and not active code, it has to exist within the HTML but can be hidden (well, obfuscated) using javascript. The fields you have marked as essential should probably have some pre-submission checking on them too to make sure they're actually filled in.
- Big Iron uses Symantec
- There's a number of typos too.

Just my immediate observations. If the purpose of your original post was not to invite comments, let me know - and I'll remove this post.

It's an opinion forum. Im cool - Incitement to treason is the only thing gets me riled so far.

I would happily use more flash.
Customer likes it, I like it.

As stated - still in progress. Tags etc.

Will look for the typos.

taa

edit - I was sure I had metatags on that front page - beware the 'save as' and writing over the file - doh!

BAAAAACKUP!!!!!

Yeah, not very appealing

But at least all the alignments are good - big help thanks.

What all lined up right on macs wouldn't on windows.
But seems to be doing so like it's supposed to.
