Hi all - Thought I've been lurking for a while, so thought I'd say Hi to all the Palmy people on the board. Finally made the jump to the bike after procrastinating all year, and just got my license last week and bought my first bike today - 2007 Kawasaki GPX250r. :2thumbsup (early mid life crisis I think haha).

Did a fantastic learn to ride course in Wellington with Roadsafe. Definately recommend them to anyone wanting to learn. Andrew @ Roadsafe is an excellent teacher.

Went for my first 'solo' this evening up the street once the rain finally stopped. Scary at first. I might make it out of our street by the end of the week utilising only one pair of underpants...... :)

Hopefully will cross paths with some of you Palmy people in the near future.

:)

I think mine's the pre-mid life crisis. I'll save the full on crisis when I get my full license... (it'll be my excuse for a bigger bike) :)

Hey there DJ
I did the course in Wellington too!! It was a goodie eh.
I have not purchased a bike yet but will hopefully in the next week or two.
The advice on here has been great :girlfight:, made me think about the type of riding and what I wanted to do.
Once I get my bike and I do a few rides, it would be nice to catchup with some of these experienced guys and go for a ride.:chase:
Let me know if you are keen.

LOL - that scares me now. :) seriously... visited every bike shop in town (that I know of). Only 2 would give me the time of day and treated me well. the other 2...well... another story...

Hey dude. Welcome to the gang. There are a few KB's in/around Palmy, might see you around - I ride the perl green zephyr (there is only one around ;)).

I've never bought a bike from AFC but they've been super helpful getting numerous kawasaki parts for a rebuild of my Zephyr.

- edit: by the way, which bike shops wouldn't give you the time of day? Name and shame, I say... I'm interested to hear.

Far be it from me to say anything negative about AFC. I wouldnt do that. Careful where you are going with the name and shame - this is kiwibiker you know.....
