Hey man, NP a wee haul just for the w/e fella.
anyway to answer ya question, some of the younger guys are organising a week evening ride at the mo, other wise most w/e's we ride, if theres a bikers meeting place then it is the Wheatsheaf pub Teddington.

This w/e is the Little River rally (on the rd to Akaroa) and the finel round of BEARs racing (ruapuna) featuring the Battle of the Buckets TT title, which is where most KBer's will be found.

Hey man

Most of the rides that happen in Christchurch aren't posted on KB - heck, most aren't posted anywhere. Generally there's a group of guys that text one another and go for a ride on a Sunday afternoon. The group that do that all ride together because they're friends, and generally don't invite people outside of their group. It's nothing personal, they just like to ride with their friends.

Getting out to rides in Christchurch is all about meeting a few of the guys. The more guys you meet and the more often you ride with them, the more opportunities you're going to get to head out for a ride.

Come along to The Cruisy Wednesday Night Ride (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=57489) next Wednesday - we're starting one up in Christchurch for newer riders, and for those who feel they don't get to ride regularly enough. It'll be a good chance to meet some of the rabble ;)

... ok so what group of riders are you refering to here DE???
I asume not us, as you have been included in a few rides with us and a fair bit of effort from me for a starter has been offered in your direction.
Having said that yes we do tend to txt/phone/SBF our rides as we are busy people with property etc and its usually a last minute dision to ride.
also we post up all rallys and bigger rides so all can attend.

I wasn't just referring to your group, D, but other groups too. Sure, I've come on rides with you guys once or twice, but usually only because I invite myself - I feel like I'm pushing in on your space, getting in the way. Most of your rides I don't go on because I don't hear about - which is fine, you're free to ride with who you want to, don't have to invite me. That wasn't the point I was making, though, I know you don't mind other people coming along on your rides, and heck, I like riding with you guys... I just meant that most of the time you don't post it up on KB (and you don't have to of course), so guys like blue eyed savage here aren't likely to find out about them unless someone tells them. That someone isn't likely to be me, since I don't find out about your rides either.

The effort you've offered to me? What was that, exactly, and are you saying I'm ungrateful? I asked you if you'd be good enough to follow me on a run, then have a beverage and have a chinwag afterwards, and you said you'd be keen. I'd still like to take you up on that, but as yet it hasn't happened. That's not a dig at you, though, it's more my fault that it hasn't, since my bike hasn't been ready to ride (trying to sort through that and get it back soon). Other than that, we haven't really talked a great deal. Summer's coming, though....

Are you living in Christchurch or still in naki?

If in Christchurch, you might want to consider coming on rides with my group. It's a cruiser only group, and a supershadow would fit right in with us. Laid back rides, great people, all sorts of cruisers and of course sometimes friends that have sports bike pop along on an invite :P

There is a ride from SportZone, 62 Manchester St (I think) this Saturday. Dean from there was telling me about it yesterday. Leaving time depends on what time they close up. But between 12:30 to 1pm.

Yep. They usually leave at 1pm, as the shop closes at 12.30 and they have to close up, move all the bikes back inside, bitch about this and that, have a pie, get changed into gear, select a steed... rigorous process ;)

My attitude has nothing to do with the truth mate, and it sure hasn't changed. If you think that my post was only attitute rather than what actually goes on, then you need to wake up some. I got frustrated with never hearing about your rides, then someone saying "why didn't you come?" Whatever. I'm just saying that when you try to make friends with people, and they don't show much interest in nurturing a relationship, generally it means they're not interested. You must've been rejected by heaps of girls right? Well, it's just like that.

You really should just come out with CK once in awhile.. the rides are hardly secret. They are publicly posted on the website.

I guess your world is perfect and has no discussion or debates going on,must be farkn boring.
we gotta do something on those long cold winter nights when riding is a bit disagreeable and theres no racing to keep us occupied.

and to stay on topic: we actually do a fair number of rides, mostly they are longer ones to rallys and they are always well publicised, and the chch bunch does a LOT of rallys... the spur on the moment ones are not (for obvious reasons... and NO I am NOT going to text 30 people to say I am going for a 30km ride!)
Get involved with the local lot and just tag along when you hear of a group ride. PM people and see when they normally go out. The wheatsheaf is a a popular meeting spot after a ride, go there and meet people on a sunday arvo. If you dont make the first move, no-one else will, :niceone: cya round

Yup... a bit of piss taking here... but also a few people taking things way too seriously... for goodness sake Lama, DE... this is the internet, not everyone will always even think of you when they go on a ride... if its not posted on KB, its not a KB ride, its just a group of mates going out on a ride... no biggy, no need to over analyse, no need to create "groups" - just be happy, be yourself and ride with your mates... KB is not the beginning and end of all riding.

No, only about four points and the rep system on here doesn't affect your viewing of the website the slightest bit except for custom titles and a few minor things. Posting and viewing are all still enabled, and this is of course a forum and those are what you do here. Are you sure you know how it works?

This is exactly what I was meaning, all this rubbish should be removed and the ego that you using to threaten me with little red dots is so pronounced it's a wonder no one else has chimed in, or at least no one has chimed in directly in an open thread as I know there are other CHCH KB bikers who find it to be clicky and I myself found it to have, even after having invited several out before on more then one occasion for biking and non-biking socializing.

I'll say it again, friends or not with Ryan, I would stick up for him as it is obvious there is an amount of bullying and abuse going his way. Someone wants to ride and be on an invite then you should have the decency to try and get him along once in awhile.

There are several good people in the CHCH group, some I have met and some I haven't, and in the end it's the people on the bikes that make a difference. Out of the ones I have met, and a few I've only had PMs from and chatted to on MSN, the ones you want to ride with and consider as friends will stop for a minute and say hi or stop briefly in recollection and let me know there is a ride on or that they just had an awesome ride and that I should come along next time.

Shrug it off and deny your attitude all ya like.

bullying and abuse... umm you aint been here very long have you. You seem to be under the odd impression that we ride a lot and haven't invited DE for anything.
1. He crashed his bike and hasn't had a bike for several months.
2. We (being about 4 of us, there are a whole lot more chch kbers out there) have maybe done 3-4 rides in that time frame... its been winter and all, and we race at the track over that time instead of riding on the road.
3. As had been said before, ANYONE is welcome, not just kbers

maybe wednesday
prob not octoberfest: at the track
magpie: always there
Burt munroe: guess you'll be in 2 places at ones then? Not bothering cos they dont race buckets and I'd prob only go down to race cos its an awesome track but clashes with MM. Do it one year....
Wheatsheaf: maybe pop over on the way back from an akaroa gp but too close to stay.

Theres about 6 other rallys before wheatsheaf, will you be heading to any of those?

Its a toss up between going to see the uni racing, or heading out to a much larger attendence rally. Also also depends on what the others in CK might do. Might have some people going to one and others going to another.

And Dev Esq is going to Burt and another person to party with is a bonus in my books.

Probably going to Nelson Rally. Depends on my work hours. Probably none others til then, I need my weekends for other things with people who dont have bikes. And cleaning.. lots and lots of house cleaning.

You use different names for some of these then what I use/have read online.

No way I can go to 3 rallies in one month, and I think the HOG rally is open invite but more expensive for non members. That is if I am correct on that particular rally me and a HOG member were discussing at little river. If it is HOGs and Buell only.. I bite my tongue just this once.

For me to tell CK people, I like to be able to provide dates, entry prices, possible activities such as bands + what competitions, and more importantly good information on where it is.. even if its for my sake as Im not a kiwi.

Just my luck I dont think any of those occur when I have my months annual leave.

Different names? Location usually tells most people what and where. That was just a brief list, most are posted somewhere on the net, I think 'NZ rallies' has most of them and details. Use google...
The HOG national rally you have to be a full Intl member to go, but you can have a guest i.e pillion.

Yeah NZ rallies has a lot posted but having talked to the webmaster he doesn't always know the details. For the Nelson rally, I knew about it but when I had looked at it a few weeks ago it had no info other then a date and name. Now there is a flyer.

Ill check with Dmouse. He seemed to think, maybe not for that rally, but I'm sure he said there was a HOG rally and it was $100 for members and more for non-members.

Good thing theres a few HOGs in our group. I should have a Harley also by then - hopeful.. tis the plan though.
