Qingqi QJ50QT-P Help

Hi there, my bro has just brought a Qingqi QJ50QT-P scooter.

It's a 2 stroke, and I can't seem to find out if it's a premix or not. :sweatdrop

I can't find a oil thing for it near the fuel cap?

So it might not be premix, but it's a 2004, so I'm just lost lol

The oil tank might not necessarily be right by the fuel cap. On my KR it's under the seat, next to the battery etc. Have a look around under the seat, and any panels that remove easily and see if you can find the tank.
Best not to run it until you figure out the oil thing, otherwise the little scoot might die a horrible 2-stroke death.

Ummm, this is the first time I have heard of a Qingqi, so I had to Google it and came up with this: www.qingqi.co.nz which has no mention of the model mentioned.

Give the dealers a call http://www.qingqi.co.nz/dealers.htm There is one in Auckland and one in Christchurch.

Yea, I told my bro not to fill it up etc and not ride it very much until we got it sussed!

He rang up the previous owner today, it's a premix and it's somewhere under the seat, or so my bro said, so i'll let him find it.

As for oil, will any old standard 2 stroke oil work for it?

All the chinese two strokes I have seen have an oil reservoir right next to the petrol tank. Access is commonly under the seat.

Run a good quality two stroke oil, designed for motorcycles.

Two stroke oil for chainsaws is different (I was told it is "sticky") to help the engine run on its side.

Two stroke oil for outboards is different too, as outboards usually are water cooled the oil does not need the same temperature tolerance.

My only other piece of advice would be sell it before it breaks. As it will break.

bp 2 stroke powerlube (can get it at Mitre10 or BP) is your best bet.
If you feel fancy go get yourself some Motul 6000

I have been under the impression for quite some time that 'premix' is when you add oil to the petrol yourself (most older vespas - except most of the PX range - are premix). If you are talking about a separate oil reservoir, that is not 'premix'.
