The cable could have fallen out, if t has screw it back in and maybe loctite (sp?) it only a tiny bit though. If that doesnt work it may be your speedo driver... Then again I could just be plain wrong but I wuld check those 2 thigs first.

THe speedo cable will most likely screw into somehwre under your instrument panel.... maybe under your speedo? Im not sure bout gixxers butthey can be a pain in the arse to find... Get on ya knees shine a torch up and have alook! :)

Actually, first follow the cable up from the wheel and see if its loose or not. It may still be kinda screwed but loose you'll need to tighten it if it is...

well gsxr does not run of front wheel, it run of the front sprocket,
Does your whole dash got, or is it just the speedo?
If whole dash look at your fuses, other wise the speedo sensor, might all gumed up with gunk (sensor) is on the left side of bike, where you change gears.
