OMG it was a GREAT day! :Punk:
There will be SOOOO much to say so I'll just start a new thread for it lol
OMG it was just wonderful! How beautiful the Coromandel was!
Good riding all of you!
GIJoe: Thanks for leading the pack lol You deserve a bing!
Scottish Ducati Guy: lol it was funny last night! Have some more EGO Mango candy lmao! Well, it was nice to have you on this trip :D So glad!
Deanohit: Well done on those dodgy-thin-and-no-grip tires! lol lmao! I just got reminded of you dropping your bike while trying to skid rear tire on grass! lmao!!!
Out-Law: Good riding bro! lol You went quite fast on that GSX, too bad the 3rd one couldn't show :( Well there always next time! :)
Loved that lamb we had last night :)
PirateJaffa: lol sorry when I overtook that damn-fu*kn-sloww-ass van lol You were suppose to overtake before me ey. Well anyways, that van was bloody pain wasn't it?! lol for 20 whole minutes we were riding at that van's speed! (Couldn't overtake cause those 35 corners and stuff)
Nice riding :)
Carbacca: Always pleasure riding with you lol Nice to had you on the ride eventho your boss didn't know about it lol :Punk:
MidnightMike: Nice to see you :) Nothing much to say cause you were wayyyy in front of me riding fast while I was named Charlie lol
Well it was good to see you :) Nice riding!
Robignevil: Nice to see you at Mobil lol When Thursday group met GIJOE and his crew at Kev's place, we almost straightly went to Coromandel lol but I stopped them! I commanded (as the organiser) them to go to Thames to see any other KBers waiting lol Later we found Mike too.
Macstar: Nice riding to Coromandel. You liked that house didn't you? lol same. Had a nice lunch at Kev's place ey? Delicious lol
Kev: THANK YOU for the hospitality. Couldn't say goodbye or anything before we left, sorry for that lol but the BBQ was nice! It was lovely! Oh btw, nice house! I loved the view! :)

Just got back a half hour ago, was great to put some faces to your KBer name, what an awesome days riding with you guys thanks. Sorry guys, but the video camera didn't record any video footage :crybaby:(something to do with the memory card crapping out) like EJ eating a muesli bar while riding through the twisties
Pic 3: The Ninja next the "awesome Ducati".
Crap about the video camera Deano.:oi-grr:
Those last two would have to be the funniest moments for the day.
Anyone want to compare the amount of k's they did today? (I took the long way home and managed 490!!!):shit:
That was THE BEST ride ive ever been on, great weather, great roads, great bikes, great food and great company. :headbang::woohoo::Punk:
Thanks to all who attended.
Looking foward to another if it happens again.....

I also ate a whole pack of multisers from Thames to Kev's place :D:D
btw carbacca, did you see GIJOE stopped on the SH1? lol
At first, I rode pass him, then I thought "omg I can't just leave him there!"
So I went for the nearest exit (which was like 4km away!)
head back...
exit again...
got back on SH1 Auckland...
got to GIJOE, but Donor was already there! lol
Aargh the award coulda been mine! lol I was gonna be his saviour of the day! lol
I couldn't even helped him anyways lol
What else happened... lol
Acording to my visual calculations, Out-law almost got head-on collision while passing a car about..... 4-5 times! lol careful next time ey?

All good, someones gotta be at the front, so I though I might as well make things exciting, for me anyways.
I can remember your kb name, but the guy from waikato on the GPX: (Can someone tell me what his kb name is)
- You sure can ride that thing, especially since you have only had it for only 1000km's
- Thanks heaps for letting me chuck my jumper in that massive tail bag, made the ride a lot easier.
Sweet, lets keep putting up photos in the other thread guys...

great ride, thanks for the company everyone. my whole body is sore and i wanna just jump in the shower and go to sleep.....but no had to give the bike a quick clean and lube the chain etc before i put it away.
i set my trip meters when i left BP papakura this morning. i think its 490 something as well
GIJoe apparently ran out of gas about 500m from takanini offramp, i cut across two lanes to get off and find a safe place to drop him a phone call, and hes all good so i left him to it.

Those last two would have to be the funniest moments for the day.
The funniest for me was when I had my head down on the tank trying to be as streamlined as possible with the bike revving it's tits off and blasting past that cop in the blue car at 95kmh:bleh:, Bet I looked a right idiot.

Awfully superdooper good to meet ya'll. Kev, top bloke...what can I say. Is the proper word "cunt" lol.
Nice touch with the teddy bear. Shame there's no pillion pad aye.
What ya'll missed was my shiny uninsured Ducati's back end going completely sideways (almost full lock) on a junction that was littered with gravel and me shiting myself as a result. I was like "ffs...I've been a good boy and sat at 90 for the best part of the day and this happens". I'll bring vegetables to the next BBQ instead of meat. I still want to know who brought the sweeties (lollies?).
Still can't believe Latvia Sergei preferred the sound of a scoobaru over the Ducati tergi's....that's just wrong.
Oh...my face is REALLY sunburnt.

PirateJaffa: [snip] ...riding :)
Heh, I was just enjoying cruising slowly at the back of the pack with you guys for a change of pace on that leg - I figured we'd been stuck behind the blighter for 20 minutes so what was the rush in overtaking him now? :P
Acording to my visual calculations, Out-law almost got head-on collision while passing a car about..... 4-5 times! lol careful next time ey?
So that was why you were sitting on my arse for most of the trip - using me as a crumple zone huh? ;)
GIJoe apparently ran out of gas about 500m from takanini offramp, i cut across two lanes to get off and find a safe place to drop him a phone call, and hes all good so i left him to it.
Ha! You shoulda filled up when you stopped by me at the gas station in Paeroa ;)
Pity the excitement happened after we'd split up to head home, although I had a beaut cruise from Paeroa back to Aucks - hardly dropped below 130 the whole way, and not a cop in sight!
A+++, would trad- I mean, ride again. Excellent work EJ! :niceone:
EJK
28th September 2007, 21:01
does that mean "A++ Highly recommended, good trade, will trade again"? lol
good ride ya'll... I'm taking a warm shower and watch some Charlie Chaplin and then head to Coro... No, I mean bed lol
carbacca
28th September 2007, 21:02
you lucky. my trip back from paeroa involved lots of sunstrike, cages travelling at 80k, debris flying off the back of dump trucks etc.....

Well finally got to answering in this thread! Yes, I did run out of go-gas a scant few hundred metres from a servo, the crapola thing is I could hear fuel sloshing around in the tank still (sigh, those damn tank designers making a dip in the tank so you can't actually use the last litre or half or so!)
Donor came and bailed me out with a nice 5 litre fuel can and we talked shite on the side of the moronway as EJ skidded to a stop 200m down to see how I was  Carbacca did pull over and give me a call on the celly but it was all good!
Anyway - my fault, if'n I wasn't going quickly and pootled along merrily, I'd have no probs with the milage (but I guess winding it on uphill past the slower cages is a biker thing!)
Great trip since I managed to fit in two visits around the Coro loop :woohoo: I only wished we left at an ungodly earlier hour so we could do the Tauranga/Kaimai/Te Aroha route (I guess I will do that next week myself ... it's a hard life)
Kev, you are a bloody legend, you exemplify the kiwi hospitality and your mate make you both a pair! Dang, will miss the deck when you no longer have the place (secretly, I love riding the cable car :msn-wink:)
Only had two pucker moments - going around the twisties past Coro town and coming around a blind corner and the traffic had stopped.. emergency braking! And I had my eyes shut hoping no-one would ram me in the rear! (ooer! :o)
The other was heading out to Whitianga through from another set of twisties and a frikk'n cager comes around a blind straddling the center line. Evasive! All sweet!
And oh yeah, the sweet sound and sight of a Ducati thumping up the hills always brings a grin to my face! (I laughed at the Commodore rozzer who saw a motley collection of wannabe bikers tootle past!)
Good to see that everyone was sensible on the trip and hope to do another ride out in the near future with you all again!
Pic1 : The start of the Auckland Crew riding down on Friday
Pic2 : Bikes beneath us on the deck ...
Pic3 : Yes, very Village People ... I see young men, staying at a place I know ...
Pic4 : Deanohit decided to test his tyres traction-adhesion limit in the morning dew on the grass ... bent, but nothing we didn't know about him already!
Pic5 : The Scotsman needed tae whet his whistle wiv'a brewski!
Pic6 : Bikes on the side of the road ... so purty!
More piccies to come

Oeeee I forgot to tell... I had A bit of a problem on my way back !!!... I was in North Shore, took the grevil rd exit, went through the roundabout at the speed about 40km/hr and All of sudden My back skidded out to the left, then to the right then to the left and so on(Didn't drop the bike). so I started decelerating and slightly applied my front brake. as soon as I stoper I had a look at my rear tire and It was flat so I pushed my bike to the nearest Petrol station, got the tire filled with air, drove to home, and by the time I got home It got flat again.

Wish I'd have been out with you lot. Was off work sick all week. Pouring nose inside the helmet isn't much fun. Good thing Halo came out to keep me distracted from the beautiful riding weather while I was at home. I think sitting at my desk looking out the window all week would have broken me :2guns:
