Since the fog/drizzle/depressing grey clouds have finally started to give way to bluer skies, and warmer weather, I have taken it upon myself to kick start a summer thread for Waikato riders.
The Daytona's is all jiggy, so tootl'n time awaits.:chase:

Yes good ride, Harbour Road had a good surface but between TeAnga and Waitomo was a bit substandard.
Looking forward to some more summer outings, tho October is looking busy already

Hey now I know who you are - only just found this thread, nice to have met you.
Good day out that was. My rear wheel seemed a bit challanged that day- not sure what was going on.

I'm up for a ride so I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Back Sun Evening.
All welcome.($10 Doc camp fee).:scooter:

Sounds like a great way to blow off a weekend but...
You planning on taking your fishing gear and camping gear up on your bike!

Its such a good ol pack horse. Might take a pic tomorrow to show I'm not full of shit.;)
Will take the Daytona up to Dans funeral tomorrow.

I have contacted Coro Info Cntr, and fuel is still on sale at the Colville store, which helps with bike fuel range.

Tip of Coromandel.
Mainly gravel road in good condition. Fuel is still available at Colville store.
Road bikes can do it, but stone chip damage to fairings is guaranteed.:(
check out a Coro map, and look at the tip. Fletcher bay etc.

Lol I'll pass.. stone chips on my new bike are one of the last things I want. If I had a tidy off roader I wud so be in. Do u do mainly off road (gravel) rides do ya?

Personally, I'm spending more time on back roads and gravel, but hopefully others will post some more weekend road rides here.
Still like riding the Daytona on road rides, but theres something appealing about old country roads with nil speed cameras/coppas etc. Plus the final destinations generally arn't crowded. gravel puts alot of people off:clap:.
Cross over to the dusty side, resistance is useless:wacko:

Have a good ride man - enjoy the fishing, I would go but I'm busy this weekend.

Forgot to post a note that I was doing this ride.:oi-grr:
Its stuck between Te Kuiti, and Taramanui, and its worth while including Okahakura Saddle Rd.
Both ranges help seperate Taumaranui From Ohura. %90 gravel and very enjoyable.

1 Grader was about.

2 Saddle Rd

3 The coolest front gate I've seen for ages.

4 Mt Pleasant Farm members certainly enjoy skiing.

Mate, you and I need to get into some of this offroad stuff sometime. I liked the way you did the fishing rod attachment, I been thinking about how to stick my fly rod onto the bike, so your pic ansered that for me!
cheers
