Looking at Hornets as a replacement for my Gixxer, and although I'm more upright, so no back pain, I find that the stock bars are too narrow and too close to me. What recommendations are there - Renthals/ProTaper?.
I have searched and found a few answers on here and the Hornet forums, but no defintive answers.

I have the stock Rethal MX bars from Honda dirt bikes on my CB900. They seem to do the job well. I am in Howick as well so if u want to have a looksie just let me know.

Hiya, a bit in here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=32223&highlight=dogs+hornet+mods) about what we did with our hornets. The renthals are good, much more comfdortable to ride with hands a bit further apart and lower. Hope that helps.

Anyone use the Ventura Handlebars? Been recommended by a Honda dealer and are alot cheaper than the Renthals.

yea the Ventura's are probly not bad. the only reason I got the rethal's are because they were OEM bars off a Standard Honda MX bike and I got it for cheap.
MX bars are good, makes the Hornet feel like a 900cc Motard.. (not that I have ridden one)

a motard is light and wheelies real easy :shifty:
a hornet is twice the weight... and is harder to wheelie... unless you have a pillion :innocent:
but yes, while wide bars make splitting harder, it makes it ridiculously easy to ride and flick around

Second that. Many choices suitable for moderns and classics and they are cheaper because they are steel not alloy (usually)
