Good on him for what?

For at least having the balls to get on a bike in the 1st place and giving it a go. Some people never will, so good on you.

Arguably the people who aren't dead are somewhat better off, though.

Oh dear.

I'm biting, aren't I?

I get your point neo but without mentioning the rest of it in your previous post, it sounded like you were being pretty harsh on the dude who died in a sarcastic way.

Stop responding to him as though he's serious about anything. Trolls will not survive unnourished.

Cos it wasn't me....
True but still a little insensitive (think Simon Cowell lol).

so sad, be careful people, and watch out for those bloody cage drivers. I feel for this guys family and friends. :(We don't know who's at fault. The roads would have been extremely slippery as it rained all Sunday here. Also the stretch of road of the accident has a bad camper to it. May he RIP.

Being a devils advocate for just a second, I wonder how many people expressing condolences actually knew the dead guy. It's starting to seem like the grief tourists in the UK. Or am I just a hardened old curmudgeon. Answers on a postcard please.
We indulge in a risky hobby and feel more alive because of it, but some of us will pay the price. It may be better to go doing something you enjoy, than dying full of regrets.

You're a hardened old curmudgeon, but you're right.

I've posted on that point before (people die every day, why spend tears on the ones you've never met...) but everyone keeps posting the "OMG, someone died on a bike" threads, so I just shut up and express the occasional condolence.

I suppose it's just the price one pays for participating in a forum with a friendly, happy, free-love-and-granola ethos. Which is all good.
