Friend of mine just picked up a 1990 gsxr750 down 27000kms the owner had had it for 11 years, near new tires etc etc, for like $2000

Fairing is awsome condition, just only one problem with its starting to get a crack in the frame, under the gas tank both sides

Good thing he can fix it himeself he works at a engine reconditions which they also weld bike frames, so it is a great buy.

Mate, for that to have cracked both sides in that spot, it's taken a hell of a whack.

Its in the place where the weld to bottom of frame for cradle to hold motor. could have been from first owner but guy who owned for 11 years now crashed it, so could have been early in its life, and just slowly worked it way up and i take a better pic and show ya tomorrow

Make sure you get it stress relieved after welding or it will break again > Have seen job's done before like this & had to fix them as they haven't been done right .As "WT" pointed out it has had something happen to it ,So have a look at the head set & other main mounting point's for crack's as well .

This guy know whats he is looking for, they do alloy welding etc etc, first bike he has owned in about 10 years tho. he went over it with a fine tooth comb, and those only cracks.

Sweet shouldn't be a worry then . Just seen some dodgy weld's in the last 28y that I'v been welding & teaching people , that why I was making sure it was been done right SENSEI NP

hahahah its his job, and he owns part of the business, he does all matter of alloy welding he fixed the handle bar on my old zzr when it fell over and broke
