Hey, my bro's scooter speedo is not working at all.
Just wondering if anyone had any ideas as what it might be.
I'm guessing it reads it straight from the engine as I can't see any cables going to the wheels.
cheers

is it electronic? it will read either from a wheel or a sprocket if its analouge. Look at the back of the spedo and see if u can find a cable going to it, undo it (at both ends) and check the cable
or jack the rear wheel off the gound, undo the speedo end and spin the wheel (bike in netural) and if the wire spins the cable is fine.

The cable has broken.
They all break on chinese scooters, as they are not long enough for the extra suspension travel that a 100kg kiwi causes.
It will have broken just behind the front hub - have another look, I am sure you will find a cable tucked away there.
Then it will blow a light bulb, cos they are all rubbish and you will piss around trying to find one.
Soon it will become very quiet in the engine. Cos you can't start it.
