just brought me a 88 vfr400r nc24 and am absolutely stoked with it!! one problem is the front forks seem i bit soft? is there anyway of adjusting them? ive done a quick search but found nothing.

Change the fork oil. Try a weight slightly heavier than that recommended by the factory althoug you'll probably find just changing the oil and setting the levels correctly will make a huge improvement.

If they are the same as the nc21 with the air thing on top of the forks you want to put about 8psi in those too.

the fork seals have just been replaced so im guessing the oils right? what weight (kind) should i go for? yeah they do have the air valves on top, ill check that out. thanks. is it safe to use an industrial compressor i.e. service station or should i use a hand pump?

I havn't actually quite got around to doing it on the may nc21 yet, thats next weeks task!

I would prob try a hand pump and a good pressure guage.

Guess all ya like mate, it pays to check such things. It's real asy to change fork seals without touching the oil too. Don't ask me how I know.......

yeah your prob right. wouldnt i risk blowing the seals with heavier oil though?

Not if the level's the same as factory I don't believe so. What you're doing is making it harder for the oil to squeeze through the little bleed hole by being thicker, that's all.
